MUMBAI :

BMW has launched the latest update for the X1, christened the X1 20i Tech Edition. Priced at INR 43 lakhs (Ex-showroom), the limited edition of the X1 should sell well. The X1 will be ‘Made in India’ at BMW’s plant in Chennai. BMW has also offered the option to book the X1 20i Tech Edition via their official site.

BMW has ensured that the X1 20i Tech Edition continues with BMW’s powerful SAV character. The commanding proportions of the X1 make for a dominating road presence, with the signature kidney grille complementing the overall charisma of the car. The large air intake and sculpted front bumper add personality to the front of the car. Additionally, the LED headlights with DRLs contribute to a striking front fascia that cannot be missed on the road. The side profile of the X1 is dominated by the newly redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels. The sharp lines across the side and the sporty new alloys combine to deliver a striking side profile. At the rear, the wraparound LED taillights and a sporty rear bumper complete the look of the SAV. Also, the use of a real rear exhaust pipe completes the sporty rear profile.

BMW has equipped the X1 20i Tech Edition with a new, crisp 10.25-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, iDrive Controller, Park Distance Control and Rear-View Camera.

The Head-Up display is a good addition to the car and shows all the relevant information to the driver. Also, if you love listening to music while driving, BMW, has provided an impressive 205W HiFi loudspeaker system for your entertainment.

The backseat can be folded in a 40:20:40 ratio, making it easier to carry large items in the boot of the car (500 – 1550 litres of boot space). Panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and electric seats for both driver and co-driver (With memory function) make it a comfortable place to be in.

A 4-cylinder, 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, petrol engine that churns out 192 BHP and 280 Nm of torque powers the X1 20i Tech Edition. The petrol motor is mated to a 7-speed Steptronic Sport Automatic Transmission and also features a dual-clutch gearbox. Along with the quirky engine, the driver also gets a few driving modes to choose from, ECO, PRO, Comfort and Sport, which can be selected from the Driving Experience Control switch.

In terms of safety, the BMW X1 20i Tech Edition comes completely loaded. 6 airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC) and electronic vehicle immobilizer, all come as standard on this Beemer.
