Decathlon introduces 150 Electric Cycles in Bengaluru to support active mobility and sports

As the world is leaning towards becoming eco-conscious, Decathlon, a leading sporting goods brand, is unveiling the Rockrider E-ST100, a first ever electric cycle by the company made for flat and steep terrains for the Indian consumers on 25th March. Initially, the company is introducing 150 e-cycles to its existing wide range of cycles in three stores in Bengaluru: Anubhava, Whitefield, and Bannerghatta Road. With this pedal-assisted electric mountain cycle, customers can effortlessly reach speeds of 25 kmph, after which the electric assistance cuts off as per the Indian norms.

The Rockrider E-ST100 is equipped with a 250W rear hub motor, and the high torque of 42 Nm (newton metres) makes it easy for the rider to ascend slopes. The electric cycle has a detachable, Samsung Lithium-ion cell battery pack with a capacity of 10.5 Ah (amp hours) (380 Wh (watt hours). It can be charged in six hours and give pedal assistance for up to 100 kilometres on a single charge in mode 1 on flat terrain. Also, to ensure safety and quality, Samsung cells used in the battery pack are BIS certified. Additionally, the E-ST100 is ARAI certified for maximum power and maximum cut-off speed. The model comes in two frame sizes - Medium and Large to suit different rider heights.

Robust frame made of 6061 Aluminium hydroformed tubes.

Front suspension is a Suntour XCT30 fork with 100 mm travel.
