INDIA :

Repos is a pioneer of IOT tech enabled Mobile Energy Distribution in India. Repos today announced the launch of an organic waste-powered 'Mobile Electric charging vehicle' with the vision of moving towards a carbon-neutral future. To roll out this solution to market, Repos has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Mumbai today with a 'waste to power' organisation Urja Biosystem Pvt Ltd and BatX Energies Pvt Ltd for mobile distribution of clean electrical power to EV's through second life batteries. The announcement event was graced by Shri Narayan Rane (Hon. Minister of MSME, Govt. of India). This launch further establishes Repos's commitment towards transforming India's mobile energy distribution and making clean energy available at the end consumer’s doorstep.

Repos is on a mission to create an ecosystem that facilitates the delivery of all forms of energy at the doorstep of end consumers with the help of technology. Thus, this Ratan Tata backed startup is essentially bridging the gap between demand and supply of clean energy.

Through its tech platform Repos has successfully found solutions to multiple problems associated with conventional fuel retail in the country. Its innovation of IoT tech enabled Mobile Energy Distribution has obviated the need of a physical retail distribution infrastructure. Consequently this solution has rooted out the need of land, capital and long gestation period associated with the physical energy distribution infra. More than 5 Cr litres of fuel is already distributed through the Repos platform which has resulted in a total saving of 14.85 million kgs of carbon emissions. Repos acknowledges that mobile energy distribution is the future and the fastest way to make new(clean) forms of energy reach the end-user. For its innovativeness, Repos has won the National Start-up Award 2021 in the industry 4.0 vertical from the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji.

Commenting on the launch, Mr Chetan Walunj, Founder and CEO of Repos, said, "We are proud to launch our customised Mobile Electric charging solution, which uses old recycled batteries to promote Green EV. It is designed as a fast-charging network available any day, anytime, anywhere in the city. The cost of total ownership is quite low, driven by our business model. The charging solution would form the infrastructure backbone for a growing EV ecosystem and easily provide customers with energy-efficient options. Our smart charging solution balances individual, corporate and community usage".

Repos's new 'Green Mobile Electric charging vehicle' is a unique project that accumulates power generated through waste into recycled 2nd life batteries and then carries out the distribution through Mobile Electric Charging Vehicles . According to the Repos founders, the current EV scenario in India has a lot of backend problems like charging infrastructure, need of huge capital infusion, time and also the net carbon zero tech and these need to be answered before we talk about EVs on road.

In words of Founder and Chief Visionary Officer, Aditi Bhosale Walunj, “ 75% of electrical power in India is generated through burning of coal and then using this power to charge your EVs will do no good for the desired purpose. Also the E waste through batteries is huge in the country. We need to find solution to these problems first and that is why we have come up with this solution of ‘Waste to power’ fuelled ‘Mobile Electric Charging Vehicles’ where power produced through waste is stored in recycled 2nd life batteries which in turn are mounted on a mobile vehicles used as a charging station for end consumers. The entire process ensures negligible carbon emissions thus serving the overall purpose of the carbon neutral future”

Commenting on the launch, Mr.Utkarsh Singh, Founder and CEO of BatX Energies, said, “Our partnership with Repos for developing Mobile Electric Vehicles Charging System and Technology best defines our mission of sustainable energy transmission and storage. Our Second life Energy storage Technology will not only help India to reuse the hazardous lithium-ion batteries waste coming out of electric vehicles but also create circular economy. The trio led solution will help customers to reduce range anxiety and have easy access to EV charging on demand at desired location. This will be the worlds first of its kind of carbon neutral solution made in India for the world.”

Today we are happy to announce that we are joining hands with india’s biggest energy distribution company Repos for carbon Neutral Mobile EV charging station. We are generating power from wet biodegradable waste and the same renewable power will be used for EV charging by Repos . By this venture we will contribute in waste management under swatch Bharat mission, saving in natural resources, promoting circular economy in rural area and employment generation. And will also contribute to reduce carbon dioxide emissions responsible for global warming, said Gajanan Patil, Managing Director, Urja Biosystem Pvt ltd.
