SHANGHAI, CHINA

Dolby Laboratories, a global leader in immersive entertainment technology, officially launched its showcase at the 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2025) by presenting the future of in-car entertainment powered by Dolby Vision HDR imaging and Dolby Atmos immersive sound. The company’s presence at the event marks a significant milestone in its continued expansion across the global automotive industry.

More than 25 automakers worldwide now support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos in their vehicles—more than double the number from a year ago. Several manufacturers revealed their first car models to feature Dolby technology at Auto Shanghai 2025, solidifying the growing demand for premium in-car entertainment systems.

With the car increasingly viewed as a connected living space, consumers are placing greater value on high-quality audio and video experiences. At the show, Dolby and its automotive partners demonstrated a wide range of in-car entertainment options available to consumers in China through major streaming platforms. These include music from QQ Music, NetEase Cloud Music, and Kugou; podcasts via Ximalaya; films and series through iQIYI and Tencent Video; and user-generated content from bilibili.

New Vehicles Announced with Dolby Integration at Auto Shanghai 2025

A number of leading automakers introduced vehicles equipped with Dolby technologies:

  • Li Auto announced the 2025 Li MEGA Ultra and Li MEGA Home Edition, both supporting Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
  • ZEEKR revealed the 009 Grand Collector’s Edition with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, and the 007 GT featuring Dolby Atmos.
  • WEY introduced the new Gaoshan, which supports Dolby Atmos.
  • ONVO debuted its flagship SUV L90 with Dolby Atmos support.
  • firefly unveiled its first vehicle with Dolby Atmos integration.
  • The Mazda EZ-60, Changan Mazda’s first model with Dolby Atmos, made its global debut.
  • Cadillac introduced the LYRIQ-V for the China market with Dolby Atmos.

Other manufacturers also highlighted recent vehicle launches featuring Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos:

  • The NIO ET9 supports both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
  • Xiaomi SU7 and SU7 Ultra include Dolby Atmos.
  • Lynk&Co 900 is equipped with Dolby Atmos.
  • The smart #5 features Dolby Atmos.
  • Multiple brands under BYD showcased models with Dolby Atmos.

Automotive Suppliers Show Support for Dolby

Suppliers are also playing a crucial role in the adoption of Dolby in vehicles. Arkamys demonstrated its solution for optimizing and tuning the unique acoustics of car cabins for Dolby Atmos. MediaTek showcased Dolby Vision integration through its Dimensity Auto MT8678 platform, helping bring cinematic display quality and immersive sound to a broader range of cars worldwide.

Dolby House Experience Debuts at Auto Shanghai

For the first time, Dolby introduced the Dolby House at Auto Shanghai, a dedicated space for showcasing its automotive innovations. At a media event hosted in the Dolby House, Dolby unveiled new research by global technology firm Counterpoint that surveyed over 1,200 Chinese car owners in April 2025.

Key findings include:

  • 97% of car owners in China are aware of Dolby innovations.
  • 80% agree that Dolby enhances entertainment quality.
  • 90% of potential car buyers in the next six months are interested in vehicles with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Executives and Industry Experts Highlight Dolby’s Impact

Industry leaders joined Dolby at Auto Shanghai to discuss the growing importance of immersive in-car entertainment.

Jing Tang, President of Flagship Products at Li Auto, stated, “Li Auto is the first auto maker in the world to offer the Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos combined experience. By integrating Dolby innovations and various streaming services that support Dolby, we have transformed cars into concert halls on wheels, cinemas on wheels, and even social hubs on wheels. This integration allows car owners to enjoy lifelike audiovisual experiences. We look forward to continuing to work with QQ Music to offer exciting content in Dolby.”

Xiankai Liu, Vice President of Tencent Music Entertainment (TME), said, “TME started the collaboration with Dolby in 2022, making QQ Music the first music platform in China to support Dolby Atmos. Later, QQ Music pioneered a dedicated Dolby Vision music video section, ushering in a new era of immersive experiences. I am delighted that QQ Music’s vast library of music can now be delivered to Li Auto vehicles with Dolby, providing greater details and clarity.”

Chinese DJ and music producer CORSAK added, “Dolby Atmos is a game changer in music production and experience. It allows me to bring my artistic vision to life with every detail and layer exactly as I imagine. I’m thrilled that people can now experience best-in-class music in Dolby in a growing amount of car models.”
