Maruti Suzuki Fronx marks historic export milestone with 1 Lakh units in 25 months

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (“Maruti Suzuki”) has announced that the Fronx has become the fastest SUV from India to surpass the remarkable milestone of 1 lakh units in exports. This impressive achievement has been accomplished in a mere 25 months, underscoring the model’s rapid acceptance in global markets. Exclusively manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s state-of-the-art production facility in Gujarat, the Fronx continues to bolster the company’s growing presence worldwide.

Since its debut in April 2023, the Fronx has been making waves internationally, with exports initially commencing to regions such as Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. Its success has exceeded expectations, marking it as a key player in Maruti Suzuki’s global strategy.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, commented, “Maruti Suzuki’s capability to manufacture world-class vehicles for global markets exemplifies the true essence of the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Besides clocking the fastest 1 lakh exports, Fronx was also India’s number 1 exported passenger vehicle in FY 2024-25.”

Maruti Suzuki has been at the forefront of India’s passenger vehicle exports, holding the title of the number one exporter of passenger vehicles for the past four consecutive financial years. In Q1 of FY 2025-26, the company exported over 96,000 vehicles, accounting for an impressive 47% share of India’s passenger vehicle exports. The company now exports 17 different models to nearly 100 countries, with top markets including South Africa, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.

In the fiscal year 2024-25, Maruti Suzuki recorded its highest-ever export volumes, surpassing 3.3 lakh units, reflecting a remarkable growth of 17.5% compared to the previous fiscal year. Among the top exported models were the Fronx, Jimny, Baleno, Swift, and Dzire, all of which have contributed significantly to the company’s export success.
