At the 2025 Salone Auto Torino (Turin Auto Show), Maserati has unveiled its new flagship super sports car, the MCPURA, available in coupé and cabrio (Cielo) variants. The event marks the vehicle’s national premiere, emphasizing its 100% Made in Italy status and showcasing Maserati’s focus on innovation, elegance, and performance.

The MCPURA is a natural evolution of Maserati’s acclaimed MC20, representing the brand’s latest vision for a super sports car. While maintaining its predecessor’s DNA, the MCPURA brings significant upgrades in terms of design, performance, and personalization.

The new MCPURA is built around a carbon fiber monocoque chassis, offering an ideal balance of rigidity and lightness, resulting in a curb weight of under 1,500 kg. Paired with the 630-hp Nettuno V6 engine, which features patented pre-chamber combustion technology, the MCPURA achieves an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 2.33 kg/hp, delivering blistering performance while retaining elegance and drivability.

One of the most iconic design elements is the “Butterfly” doors, enhancing both aerodynamics and aesthetics. The Cielo (cabrio) version adds an extra layer of innovation with a retractable electrochromic glass roof, allowing drivers to switch between transparent and tinted modes at the push of a button.

Design-wise, Maserati uses its Fuoriserie customization program to give the MCPURA an artistic and bespoke look. The car is showcased in an Ai Acqua Rainbow finish—a unique, color-shifting paint that reacts to sunlight by revealing a full spectrum of colors, inspired by light prism decomposition. The coupé version features a matte version of this color, while the cabrio (Cielo) sports a glossy interpretation.

The MCPURA is handcrafted at Maserati’s historic Viale Ciro Menotti plant in Modena, which also produces the Nettuno engine, the GT2 Stradale, and, starting from late 2025, the GranTurismo and GranCabrio. All aspects of production—including assembly, painting, and personalization—are handled in-house, highlighting the car’s artisanal Italian craftsmanship.

In essence, the MCPURA is not just a car; it’s a statement of Maserati’s design philosophy—a blend of technological excellence, aesthetic beauty, and heritage. It serves as the pinnacle of the brand’s supercar lineup, reinforcing Maserati’s identity as a creator of luxury performance vehicles rooted in Italian culture and innovation.
