Detel, the company whose claim to fame has been the launch of affordable and pocket friendly products in the past such as the world’s most economical feature phone at INR 299 and the world’s most economical LED TV at INR 3999 has now forayed into the two-wheeler space with their latest product, Detel Easy, priced competitively at INR 19,999 + GST.

With Detel Easy, what you get is an easy to use, low speed, low maintenance EV with contemporary design and quick charging that accommodates two and that too at a very disruptive price. Knowing that many will be interested in a product offering of this nature, the manufacturers have partnered with Bajaj Finserv for convenient EMI Finance schemes for their customers and are also giving a complimentary helmet with every purchase to ensure the safety of the riders. Besides, Detel Easy can also be purchased from www.detel-india.com. Furthermore, trade partners, resellers and those interested in bulk orders, can purchase it from India’s first hybrid E-Distribution platform www.b2badda.com.

This value for money product has been in the making for almost a year and a half and is currently manufactured from their facility in Gurugram which employees around 100 employees. Made in India with 60 percent of the parts manufactured in the country itself, it is primarily targeted at teenagers, because you don’t require any vehicle registration nor do you need a Driver’s License to ride this aesthetically appealing, trendy and practical EV that is available in three youthful colors - Jet Black, Pearl White and Metallic Red.

Take a look at Detel Easy’s body structure and you will notice that it has minimum use of plastic, thereby making it an environment-friendly vehicle. The EV is powered by a 6 Pipe controller 250W electric motor that has a top speed of 25 kmph and comes with drum brakes. It supports a 48V 12AH LiFePO4 Battery, that can be fully charged in 7-8 hours. With a full charge the company claims a range of 60 km in ideal conditions which makes it a perfect runabout for teenagers especially for things such as running errands in the neighbourhood.

Mr. Yogesh Bhatia, Founder & CEO, Detel, is happy about introducing Detel Easy because with this product his company is doing what it has done before that is bridge the gap between “affordability and desirability.” Bhatia also feels that “Detel Easy is the right product for the Indian market.” He goes on to say that Detel Easy is another addition to their portfolio as they plan to take steps towards reducing vehicular pollution in the cities while increasing the penetration of EVs for the people as intended by various state governments. “With the recent announcement by Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal on the launch of new Electric Vehicle Policy that is aimed at boosting the economy, reducing pollution levels and generating employment in the city, we feel that the consumption of electric vehicle will go up now than ever,” says Bhatia.

Confident of taking strides towards a greener and cleaner future as the company further moves ahead into a new era of providing sustainable mobility solutions to align with governments’ vision to electrify all vehicles in the country by 2030, Bhatia says that they too have firmed up plans to introduce a mid-range EV followed by a high-end scooter and customers will not have to wait too long for these products assures Bhatia.
