Ather Energy, one of India’s foremost electric two-wheeler manufacturers, has marked a significant milestone in its quest to revolutionise the electric vehicle (EV) landscape in Maharashtra. The company has now successfully rolled out over 400 Ather Grid fast charging points across the state, reinforcing its commitment to alleviating range anxiety and facilitating the widespread adoption of electric vehicles.

This development highlights Ather’s ongoing efforts to establish a comprehensive and reliable charging infrastructure in Maharashtra, which has become a key market for electric vehicles. The 400 charging points span across 35 cities, including major urban hubs such as Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, and Nagpur, as well as along vital routes such as Mumbai-Pune, Pune-Satara, Satara-Kolhapur, Sangli-Kolhapur, and Pune-Panshet. This strategic placement ensures that EV owners can easily access fast chargers, whether they are commuting within the city or travelling between major destinations.

In addition to the extensive Ather Grid network, Ather Energy has also introduced 220 fast charging points based on the LECCS (Light Electric Combined Charging System) standard. This innovative initiative, developed by Ather Energy and open for industry-wide adoption, allows a variety of electric two-wheelers to utilise the same charging infrastructure, further enhancing the flexibility and accessibility of the network. The Ather Grid fast chargers are also integrated with Google Maps, ensuring seamless navigation and convenience for customers as they locate and use charging stations.

Speaking about the company’s efforts, Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer of Ather Energy, commented, “Maharashtra has been a strong market for us, and we’ve seen EV adoption here grow steadily over the years. As more people switch to electric, what really builds confidence is knowing that charging won’t be a challenge. However, for many potential buyers, charging continues to be one of the perceived barriers, and that’s something we’ve always worked towards solving. From the beginning, we’ve focused on building infrastructure that keeps pace with growing demand. Crossing 400 fast chargers in the state is a reflection of that effort. It’s about giving riders the assurance that they’ll always find a charger when they need one. As we expand our retail presence, the charging network will continue to grow in tandem to make EV ownership truly seamless.”

Ather Energy’s ongoing focus on expanding its charging ecosystem has been further bolstered by strategic partnerships with leading organisations, including Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) across India and EV Dock in Maharashtra. These collaborations are integral to Ather’s broader mission to expand the electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the country.

Since pioneering India’s first two-wheeler fast charging network in 2018, Ather Energy has established itself as a leader in the nation’s EV infrastructure. The company now operates more than 3,300 Ather Grid fast charging points nationwide, offering an efficient charging rate of 15 kilometres per 10 minutes of charging. This ensures reduced downtime for users, making Ather’s network an essential enabler for everyday commuters and long-distance travellers alike.

With the rapid expansion of both its retail presence and charging network, Ather Energy is poised to continue driving the shift towards sustainable mobility, providing Indian consumers with the confidence and convenience they need to embrace electric vehicles.
