Ather Energy, the pioneer in India’s electric two-wheeler sector, has announced the successful deployment of more than 400 Ather Grid fast charging points across Tamil Nadu. This momentous achievement not only highlights the company’s dedication to addressing range anxiety but also significantly contributes to the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in one of India’s most dynamic automotive markets. By strategically placing fast chargers across major cities and key highways, Ather Energy continues to make electric mobility a more viable and convenient choice for the modern rider.

As of June 30, 2025, Ather Energy boasts an impressive network in Tamil Nadu, with 44 Experience Centres and 42 Service Centres spread across 35 cities. This expansive infrastructure ensures that customers have ready access to both sales and after-sales support, further reinforcing the company’s commitment to providing an exceptional ownership experience. The Ather Grid fast charging network, now extending to 38 cities, includes notable locations such as Coonoor, Yelagiri, and Rameswaram, with strategic placement along critical routes like Coimbatore-Bangalore, Madurai-Kanyakumari, and Chennai-Pondicherry.

A key element in Ather’s commitment to expanding EV infrastructure is the company’s pioneering work with the LECCS (Light Electric Combined Charging System) standard. With over 50 additional fast charging points adhering to the LECCS standard, Ather ensures that electric two-wheelers from various manufacturers can seamlessly utilise the charging network. Furthermore, all Ather Grid chargers are now integrated with Google Maps, simplifying the process for users to locate, navigate, and charge their EVs, thus enhancing the overall experience for everyday riders.

Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, expressed his excitement, stating, “Tamil Nadu has been one of our earliest markets and ever since we entered the state in 2019, we have been investing in building a reliable charging network there. Charging has often been seen as one of the key barriers, and it’s something we’ve focused on solving from day one. Crossing 400 fast chargers in Tamil Nadu is a reflection of that commitment. It’s about giving riders the confidence that a charger is never too far away. As our retail footprint grows, the charging network will continue to scale alongside it, making EV ownership truly seamless.”

To further bolster the state’s EV infrastructure, Ather has forged partnerships with prominent organisations such as Coffee Day Global Limited, Zeon Electric Private Limited, Ganga Sweets, and Aswins Sweets in Tamil Nadu. These collaborations enable the widespread deployment of charging stations, ensuring that Ather Energy’s fast charging network continues to grow in both reach and accessibility.

Since pioneering India’s first two-wheeler fast charging network in 2018, Ather Energy has built the country’s largest and most reliable electric two-wheeler charging infrastructure. The network now comprises over 3,300 fast charging points across India, delivering remarkable performance with compatible electric two-wheelers charging at a rate of 15 kilometres per 10 minutes. This rapid charging capability significantly reduces downtime, providing users with a hassle-free experience whether they’re commuting daily or embarking on longer journeys.

As the electric mobility landscape in India continues to evolve, Ather Energy remains steadfast in its mission to provide the infrastructure and technology necessary to accelerate the country’s transition to cleaner, more sustainable transportation options. With the expansion of its charging network in Tamil Nadu, Ather is setting new benchmarks for EV ownership, ensuring that drivers are always within reach of a fast, reliable charging point.
