Bosch Limited has set in motion a significant strategic realignment, signalling its intent to deepen its presence across India’s rapidly evolving mobility ecosystem. The company has announced plans to acquire the Vehicle Motion business by purchasing 100 per cent of Bosch Chassis Systems India Private Limited through a combination of a cash transaction and the issuance of equity shares on a preferential basis.

This move marks a decisive step towards building a more comprehensive and future-ready mobility portfolio. By integrating the Vehicle Motion business, Bosch Limited is poised to better address the shifting dynamics of India’s automotive sector, while simultaneously reinforcing its capabilities in critical domains such as safety and braking—areas that sit alongside its established strength in power solutions.

Bosch Chassis Systems India Private Limited, which represents Bosch’s Vehicle Motion division in India, is widely regarded as a market leader in automotive safety systems. Its portfolio spans active safety technologies including antilock braking systems, electronic stability control, and next-generation braking solutions; passive safety systems such as airbag ECUs and sensors; as well as actuation braking systems catering to passenger cars, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles.

“Adding Bosch Chassis Systems India Private Limited, with a future-fit vehicle motion solutions business into Bosch Limited, demonstrates our organisational belief in enhancing the company’s growth trajectory through portfolio diversification. This transaction further solidifies our leadership presence within mobility, enabling us to utilize our strengths and deliver solutions backed by local research and development and local manufacturing.” says Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of the Bosch Group in India, and Managing Director, Bosch Limited.

Following the acquisition, Bosch Chassis Systems India Private Limited will continue to function as an independent entity, with its governance overseen by Bosch Limited.

“In India, we expect the mobility landscape to evolve radically by 2030 and beyond with sustainable, safe and exciting technologies. To foster a customer-first mindset and pivot from supplying individual components to delivering future-ready platform solutions, it is imperative to unite our forces and adopt an integrated approach. This transaction empowers Bosch Limited to drive growth with a wider portfolio and combined offerings across the mobility tech stack.” says Sandeep Nelamangala, Joint Managing Director, Bosch Limited, and President, Bosch Mobility India.

At a broader level, this portfolio realignment is designed to unlock long-term value, sharpening Bosch Limited’s positioning as a preferred mobility partner. The company aims to deliver integrated solutions spanning vehicle systems, software, and hardware, while reinforcing its standing as a leading technology provider across the mobility spectrum.

The proposed transaction has received approval from the boards of the Bosch Group, Bosch Limited, and Bosch Chassis Systems India Private Limited. It is currently subject to shareholder approval from Bosch Limited. Upon completion, Bosch Chassis Systems India Private Limited will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Bosch Limited.
