Auto Expo – The Motor Show, the biannual event of India’s automotive industry, organized by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), with support from Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), will see the inauguration ceremony of its 15th edition, on February 6th, 2020. The gates at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida will be thrown open to public from February 7th, 2020 until the final day, February 12th, 2020.
The Auto Expo, spread across a total area of 2,35,000 sq. mtrs, will see automobile majors participating in a gross indoor built-up area of 51,000 sq. mtrs. The theme of this edition of Auto Expo is - ‘Explore the World of Mobility,’ and visitors can expect to see a lot of Green vehicles, BS-VI vehicles, advanced technologies, connected features as well as a host of new emission technology products and safety features that Auto manufacturers will have on their new products which will all be on display. The theme of connected vehicles will be a thing to look out for at the Auto Expo as “JIO and Vodafone will also be participating this time around, as more and more of their SIMs are getting embedded into connected cars,” said Sugato Sen, Deputy Director General, SIAM. He also went on to say that “Facebook is setting up a Townhall” [at the venue] and that “WCOTY (World Car Of The Year), are planning on visiting this year, if it materializes.”
While the Auto Expo may see a few auto manufacturers shying away, quite a few new entrants are expected to debut at the auto show as well that will showcase their products and technologies in green mobility. Mr. Gurpratap Boparai, Chairman, SIAM Trade Fair Group & Managing Director, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited said, “Despite facing severe business challenges this year at Auto Expo, the industry will get together and put the best efforts to give a new dimension and feel to the visitors, enabling them to Explore the World of Mobility. The 15th Edition of the auto show will be one of the cleanest, and greenest Expo ever with complete range of clean green vehicles. Besides the new vehicles showcased at Auto Expo, we will also witness almost 70 new product launches across various categories.”
In terms of enhancing and enriching the visitor experience, different days such as Enterprise Day, Goodwill Day, Family Day, Women Power Day, Green Day and Driving Experience Day have also been planned at the venue.
This time around Auto Expo 2020, will also have new timings. February 7th, 2020 will commence from 11 am and will close by 7 pm. Whereas, during the weekend, February 8th, and February 9th, 2020, the show timings will be from 11 am and go on until 8 pm. February 10th and February 11th, 2020, will start from 11 am until 7 pm, whereas February 12th, 2020, the last day, will start at 11 am and close by 6 pm.

The new Metro - Aqua line with Knowledge Park Station just across the Auto Expo venue, is further expected to ease travel woes of guests who wish to travel to the Auto Expo.
