The stage is set for Round 2 of the JK Tyre Racing Championship 2025, returning to the iconic Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore on 27–28 September. Celebrating nearly three decades of nurturing motorsport talent in India, JK Tyre’s flagship racing series continues to offer both aspiring and established drivers an unrivalled platform to make their mark on the national stage.

The penultimate round promises an action-packed weekend across three compelling categories — the JK Tyre Novice Cup, the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, and the debut of the much-anticipated Levitas Cup.

Making its first appearance this season, the single-make JK Tyre Levitas Cup will feature 14 identically prepared Maruti Suzuki Ignis race cars. The grid blends rookies and gentleman drivers, ensuring a competitive and instructive atmosphere on track. While the Ignis in its stock form boasts an 82bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine, the race-spec variant features notable performance upgrades, including a standalone ECU, cold air intake and free-flow exhaust, promising edge-of-the-seat racing in a truly level playing field.

Meanwhile, the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup continues its unique Pro-Am format aboard the thrilling GT-R650s. In the Professional class, Bengaluru’s Anish Shetty leads with 30 points following a dominant Round 1, with Mumbai’s Kayan Patel (19) and defending champion Navaneeth Kumar from Pondicherry (12) in close pursuit. In the Amateur standings, Pondicherry’s Bryan Nicholas holds a perfect 36-point score, but challengers Johring Warisa (27) and Saran Kumar (19) remain firmly in contention.

In the JK Tyre Novice Cup — India’s premier entry-level single-seater championship powered by 1300cc Suzuki Swift engines — teenage prodigy Bhuvan Bonu from Bengaluru’s Team MSport leads the pack with 30 points. However, the championship remains open, with fellow Bengaluru native Prathik Ashok (13 points behind) and Navi Mumbai’s Ojas Surve (15 points) keeping the pressure on from the ranks of Team DTS Racing.

As the 2025 season intensifies, this weekend’s races are expected to deliver close finishes, breakout performances and the unmistakable thrill of grassroots motorsport at its finest.
