Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd proudly announces that the New Nissan Magnite has secured an impressive 5-star overall safety rating from the esteemed Global New Car Assessment Program (GNCAP). Manufactured at Nissan’s Chennai plant, the Magnite is a key player in the company’s “One Car, One World” strategy, which sees the vehicle exported to over 65 countries, catering to both Right-Hand Drive (RHD) and Left-Hand Drive (LHD) markets. The New Nissan Magnite, specifically the RHD variant, has been tested in India and South Africa, achieving remarkable scores in adult and child occupant protection.
The vehicle earned a perfect 5-star rating in adult safety and a commendable 3-star rating in child safety, culminating in an overall 5-star safety rating for passengers. This achievement highlights the Magnite’s robust design and unwavering commitment to safety, providing drivers and passengers with optimal protection.
In its rigorous GNCAP testing, the New Nissan Magnite underwent extensive evaluations across various safety parameters, including adult occupant protection, child safety, and safety assist systems. The vehicle’s performance across all categories was exemplary, further bolstered by its advanced safety technologies, resilient build quality, and cutting-edge design, all meticulously engineered to ensure the utmost safety for its occupants.
Launched in October 2024, the New Nissan Magnite is equipped with over 40 standard safety features, including six airbags, an advanced body structure incorporating 67% high-tensile strength steel, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Brake Assist, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), among others. These attributes significantly contribute to the vehicle’s impressive safety performance.
Global NCAP’s stringent crash test protocols evaluate frontal and side impact protection, ESC, pedestrian protection, and side pole impact assessments—critical factors that contribute to the highest star ratings. The New Nissan Magnite met and exceeded all these criteria with flying colours, reaffirming its place as a leader in vehicle safety.
