BANGALORE
In a bold and visionary move, TVS Motor Company — a global force in the two and three-wheeler landscape — has unveiled the TVS Indus Design Honours, an annual platform dedicated to nurturing India’s most promising design talent and reimagining the contours of future mobility. With this pioneering initiative, the company reaffirms its commitment to design-led innovation and underscores its role in propelling the ‘Make in India’ narrative forward with a strong emphasis on ‘Design in India’.
Inspired by the timeless ingenuity of the Indus Valley Civilization, the name ‘Indus’ symbolises a bridge between India’s illustrious design heritage and the company’s progressive vision for mobility. As TVS Motor positions itself at the intersection of heritage and innovation, the TVS Indus Design Honours seeks to revitalise the spirit of purposeful, human-centric design in the modern mobility space.
“Design is the bridge between imagination and impact. With TVS Indus Design Honours, we are creating a platform where the next generation of designers, thinkers and creators can reimagine Indian mobility as an original, culturally rooted expression of who we are and where we’re headed. This initiative reflects TVS Motor’s commitment to design-led innovation and sustainable mobility. This platform intends to promote Design among the Indian youth and nurture talent from both design and non-design backgrounds to help shape not just how we move but ignite the global conversation on the future of mobility,” stated Amit Rajwade, Vice President – Design, TVS Motor Company.
Open exclusively to Indian residents — including students, early-career professionals, and design aficionados — the 2025 edition invites participants to engage with themes drawn from four distinct regions: Thar, Sahyadri, Kutch, and Mumbai. Each thematic zone challenges entrants to propose forward-thinking mobility concepts in monowheel, two-wheeler, and three-wheeler formats. Crucially, submissions must reflect environmental sustainability, cultural relevance, and social impact.
The design challenge opens for registration today, with the final submission deadline set for 6 October 2025. Entrants are invited to register and submit their proposals via the official website, www.tvsindus.com. The competition remains free to enter and is open strictly to individuals from all academic disciplines.
Entries will undergo meticulous evaluation by an esteemed jury panel comprising luminaries from the global design and mobility sectors. Submissions will be judged on the basis of originality, contextual relevance, user-centricity, and feasibility.
The top three concepts will be honoured with cash prizes of up to ₹5 lakh. Additionally, a special Viewers’ Choice award will be conferred, and finalists may also be considered for internships with the esteemed TVSM Design Team — a rare opportunity to work at the heart of one of India’s most innovative automotive firms.
With the launch of the TVS Indus Design Honours, TVS Motor not only invests in the nation’s creative capital but also reinforces its role as a custodian of sustainable, inclusive, and design-first mobility. This initiative stands as a beacon for India’s design future — rooted in heritage, shaped by innovation, and poised for global influence.
