The Tata Tiago iCNG has quietly become one of the most influential vehicles in India’s alternative-fuel passenger car segment. Since its debut in 2022, Tata Motors has sold an estimated 1.75 lakh units, thanks largely to its pioneering twin-cylinder CNG technology that redefined practicality in a category traditionally known for compromises. With the arrival of the next-generation Tiago, Tata has further refined the formula. While the petrol and electric variants continue to attract attention, it is the Tiago iCNG that stands out as the range’s most significant evolution. Priced from INR 5.79 lakh to INR 8.55 lakh (ex-showroom), the Tiago iCNG AMT promises low running costs without sacrificing comfort, safety or driving enjoyment. Visually, the Tiago iCNG mirrors its petrol-powered sibling, adopting the sharper and more contemporary styling introduced with the latest update. A redesigned front fascia, sleeker detailing and more assertive proportions help the hatchback project a noticeably more mature road presence. The iCNG range does forgo the flagship Creative+ trim, meaning buyers miss out on features such as wireless charging, LED fog lamps, 15-inch alloy wheels and the dual-tone black roof treatment.
