New Ather Rizta S launched in India with 3.7kWh battery and 159 km range

Ather Energy has announced the expansion of its Rizta family scooter line-up with the introduction of a new variant, the Rizta S equipped with a 3.7kWh battery. This addition offers a certified range of 159 kilometres, catering to daily commuters seeking extended mileage at a competitive price, without sacrificing the signature attributes of comfort, quality and dependability for which the Rizta has become well regarded.

Originally launched in 2024 as Ather’s inaugural family-oriented electric scooter, the Rizta was designed to offer practicality, safety and storage for everyday use. The model has quickly become a cornerstone of Ather’s portfolio, now accounting for over 60 per cent of its total sales. Within a year of its debut, the Rizta has surpassed the 100,000 unit mark, a significant milestone in the company’s growth trajectory.

The latest variant aims to further solidify the Rizta’s appeal by offering enhanced range in a format designed for the requirements of Indian families. With this launch, the Rizta range now includes four variants, making it one of the most versatile and accessible electric scooter offerings currently available.

Despite the inclusion of a larger battery pack, the new variant retains all the key features that have defined the Rizta experience. The underseat storage compartment remains spacious at 34 litres and can be expanded by an additional 22 litres through an optional Frunk attachment. The scooter features one of the largest seats in its class, paired with a flat and functional floorboard to ensure comfort for both rider and pillion during city commutes and longer journeys.

Attention to design and build quality continues to reflect Ather’s commitment to engineering excellence, with rigorous testing ensuring the new variant meets the expectations of Indian households in both urban and suburban contexts.

The Rizta S variant also includes an array of safety, convenience and connectivity features. A 7-inch DeepView display supports intuitive navigation, while advanced features such as AutoHold, Fall Safe, and Emergency Stop Signal offer greater peace of mind in everyday riding conditions. Smart connectivity options include tow and theft alerts, location tracking, voice assistant integration, and support for over-the-air software updates.

The scooter is compatible with Ather’s nationwide fast-charging infrastructure, known as Ather Grid, which now comprises over 3,900 charging points. For residential use, Ather also offers a convenient home-charging solution to ensure ease of overnight charging.

Ather continues to provide robust after-sales and ownership support through its nationwide network of experience centres. The new variant is covered under the brand’s extended warranty programme, offering up to eight years or 80,000 kilometres of coverage and ensuring a minimum 70 per cent battery health throughout the ownership period.

Bookings for the new Rizta S variant are now open across the country, both through Ather’s retail outlets and its digital platform. Deliveries are scheduled to begin later this month, with production capacity being scaled accordingly to meet demand.

The Rizta S with the 3.7kWh battery will be priced at ₹137,047 ex-showroom in Delhi, ₹137,258 in Mumbai, ₹137,999 in Bangalore, and ₹139,312 in Chennai. This pricing positions the scooter competitively within the extended-range electric vehicle segment, maintaining Ather’s emphasis on offering high value and reliability.
