In a resounding testament to performance, preparation, and precision, Marc Márquez and Ducati have sealed the 2025 MotoGP World Championship, concluding the title fight with five Grands Prix still to be contested. This remarkable feat not only signals a personal milestone for Márquez—his first World Championship aboard Ducati machinery—but also marks an historic fourth consecutive Riders’ Title for the Borgo Panigale marque, secured with three different riders across successive seasons.
Following Francesco Bagnaia’s triumphs in 2022 and 2023, and Jorge Martín’s title win in 2024, Márquez’s 2025 success adds a new chapter to Ducati’s golden era. Never before in the modern MotoGP era has a manufacturer demonstrated such technical adaptability, consistently delivering championship-winning machinery regardless of the rider in the saddle.
The defining moment of this already legendary campaign came at the Grand Prix of Japan, where Márquez’s coronation was complemented by a dominant performance from Bagnaia, who claimed victory in both the Sprint and Sunday races. The result underlined Ducati’s extraordinary competitive depth and the continued excellence of the Desmosedici GP project.
Having joined the Ducati Lenovo Team at the start of the 2025 season, Márquez approached this new chapter of his storied career with unrelenting resolve. Race after race, the eight-time world champion proved himself the indisputable protagonist of the premier class. His path to the title has been nothing short of sensational: 14 Sprint victories, 11 Grand Prix wins, and an astounding 10 Sprint-GP double wins—seven of them consecutively—setting a new benchmark for dominance in the MotoGP era.
With a total of 541 championship points, Márquez leads the standings by 201 points—an unassailable margin that reflects his supreme form and the unerring synergy between rider and machine.
Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, shared his reflections on this milestone moment, “The story continues, and what an incredible story we are writing! We are World Champions for the fourth consecutive year, proving that when talent, skills, and dedication meet, the boundary between the possible and the extraordinary disappears… With Marc, this process was natural: he immediately found harmony with the Desmosedici GP. From the very first race, he confirmed everything we expected from him, and in many cases even exceeded our own expectations… To all the women and men of Ducati Corse I want to say thank you: once again, together, we did it.”
Beyond the triumph in the Riders’ standings, Ducati had already secured the 2025 Constructors’ Championship during the Grand Prix of Barcelona—its sixth consecutive title—further reinforcing the technical excellence and strategic clarity of its MotoGP operation.

The numbers behind this success are as compelling as the results themselves. Ducati’s relentless pursuit of perfection is illustrated by:
- Over 100,000 hours of design engineering
- More than 11,000 hours of high-performance computing simulations
- 2,500+ CFD simulation cycles dedicated to aerodynamics and engine performance
- In excess of 5,000 hours on the test bench
- Over 80 engine change cycles meticulously managed throughout the season
- 48 race engines prepared for the six Desmosedici GP riders
- More than 1 terabyte of race data collected, supplemented by 800 GB of augmented data
- 200+ hours of on-track testing with Michele Pirro
- 30,000+ hours spent in the Ducati Lenovo Team pit boxes
- Over 300 technical briefings held over the course of the season
At Borgo Panigale, the heart of Ducati’s operations, employees and team members gathered in celebration, embracing their dual roles as creators and ardent supporters of the marque’s racing legacy. Their pride and passion remain the invisible engine behind each victory, and their collective dedication continues to define Ducati’s DNA.
As the 2025 MotoGP season approaches its final chapters, Ducati has already demonstrated that excellence is no accident. It is forged in data, engineered with care, tested to extremes, and ultimately proven in the fire of competition. With Márquez now a World Champion in Ducati red, and the Desmosedici GP at the forefront of motorcycle racing innovation, the road ahead looks as formidable as the journey already travelled.
