MATTER, India’s first technology start-up to unveil a geared electric motorbike, has officially entered into a strategic partnership with Bolt.Earth, the country’s largest and fastest-growing EV charging network. The initiative is designed to dismantle a key barrier to electric two-wheeler adoption: the accessibility and convenience of reliable public charging.
In tangible terms, MATTER’s connected ecosystem will now integrate with Bolt.Earth’s formidable network of over 100,000 charging points, covering more than 1,800 cities including Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Delhi. Owners of the AERA — MATTER’s flagship “22nd Century Motorbike” — will be able to locate and access chargers with ease through connected digital interfaces within the MatterVerse app.
This isn’t about novelty. It’s about normalising EV ownership — making the act of charging an electric motorcycle feel as intuitive as plugging in a mobile phone. The partnership is anchored in the shared vision of “charging for everyone, everywhere”, ensuring that EV infrastructure is embedded in residential societies, office parks, university campuses, and beyond.
The collaboration will roll out in carefully structured phases. Initially, MATTER riders will benefit from seamless access to Bolt.Earth’s nationwide charging grid, directly through the MatterVerse app. In the subsequent phase, co-branded chargers will be installed across MATTER’s showroom and service network — enabling convenient charging during test rides, servicing, and for everyday dealership use. In the longer term, Bolt.Earth charging units may be bundled with new MATTER vehicles, embedding charging infrastructure directly into the ownership experience.
Speaking about the partnership, Mr Mohal Lalbhai, Founder of MATTER, remarked, “At MATTER, our mission goes beyond building the world’s most advanced electric motorbikes; we are reimagining the entire ecosystem that powers them. Through this partnership with Bolt.Earth, we are not only strengthening AERA’s value proposition but also driving forward the idea of the ‘Right to Charging’. Every rider deserves the freedom to charge where they live, work, or travel. Together, we’re making EV charging as accessible and ubiquitous as charging a mobile phone.”

Positioned as a motorbike from the future, the AERA features a liquid-cooled powertrain, a sophisticated 7-inch connected dashboard, and a lifetime battery warranty. With Bolt.Earth’s vast network and intuitive user experience, riders are assured a seamless transition from petrol to electric without compromising on range, reliability, or convenience.
Mr S. Raghav Bharadwaj, CEO and Founder of Bolt.Earth, added, “India needs chargers placed where people live, work, and ride, backed by smarter charging infrastructure. That’s what this partnership with MATTER enables. At Bolt.Earth, we’ve always believed charging should feel effortless, like second nature. With over 1 lakh chargers already deployed across cities like Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Delhi, we’re building the backbone of India’s EV future. MATTER shares that vision. Together, we’re creating an ecosystem where switching to electricity becomes an obvious choice.”
Operational responsibilities within the alliance are clearly delineated. Bolt.Earth will oversee installation, uptime assurance, and maintenance for public, dealership-based, and joint infrastructure — supported by robust service-level agreements. It will also manage real-time data feeds, technical support, billing integration, and any free-charging initiatives launched by MATTER post full integration.
For its part, MATTER will focus on integrating the Bolt.Earth network into the MatterVerse digital platform, co-developing consumer awareness campaigns, piloting charging initiatives, and guiding optimal charger placement through detailed dealership rollout data.
Together, MATTER and Bolt.Earth are charting a future in which electric mobility is no longer a lifestyle choice, but the default — frictionless, intuitive, and as natural as topping up a smartphone. A new chapter in India’s mobility revolution has begun.
