Shell Lubricants India has unveiled an impressive portfolio of three technologically advanced lubricants, designed to meet the nuanced requirements of modern mobility — spanning passenger cars, two-wheelers, and pickup trucks. The launch underscores Shell’s enduring commitment to innovation, technical excellence, and product diversification tailored for Indian consumers.

This latest introduction further strengthens Shell’s position as a global leader in lubrication technology, addressing both performance and sustainability through advanced engineering and meticulous formulation.

Shell Spirax S4 GX 75W90: A Segment-First Innovation in Gear Protection

Among the new products, the Shell Spirax S4 GX 75W90 emerges as a standout. Developed with a refined combination of premium base oils, viscosity enhancers, and a proprietary additive system, this lubricant is the only Shell-branded product worldwide offered in this specific viscosity grade. It also holds the distinction of being India’s first Shell-branded synthetic gear oil under the Spirax banner.

Engineered for manual transmissions in both passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, Spirax S4 GX 75W90 ensures exceptional gearbox protection, facilitates smoother gear changes, and contributes to long-term cost-efficiency. It is certified under API GL-4 and ZF-TE-ML-08 specifications and is compatible with a wide array of OEMs, including Suzuki, Hyundai, and Tata. The product is available in 1-litre and 2.5-litre formats, priced at INR 540 and INR 1300 respectively.

Shell Advance AX6 5W30: Targeting the Evolving Scooter Market

Designed in response to the rapidly growing BS VI scooter segment, Shell Advance AX6 5W30 offers holistic 360-degree protection tailored for the daily commuter. Utilising cutting-edge synthetic technology, this engine oil delivers robust performance in challenging urban conditions — including frequent stop-start traffic and sustained low-speed operation.

This premium offering is packaged in a distinctive black 600 ml bottle, crafted entirely from 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, aligning with Shell’s ongoing sustainability efforts. It will be available nationwide at a retail price of INR 355.

Shell Rimula Pick-Up: Customised Lubrication for Urban Load-Carriers

Specifically developed for pickup trucks that operate in stop-go city traffic, the Shell Rimula Pick-Up range offers tailored engine protection and superior durability. Formulated to meet the needs of both BS IV and BS VI compliant engines, the product enables extended drain intervals while maintaining optimal performance.

Available in both 5-litre and 7-litre packaging, Shell Rimula Pick-Up is offered in two variants — 15W-40 (priced at INR 2040 and INR 2765) and 10W-30 for BS VI engines (priced at INR 3150). The range has been launched across India.

New Shell Helix Ultra: Redefining Engine Efficiency with PurePlus Technology

Complementing the above launches, Shell has also introduced the latest iteration of its flagship engine oil — Shell Helix Ultra. This premium product is powered by Shell’s proprietary PurePlus Technology, which converts natural gas into crystal-clear, 99.5% pure base oil.

The results are compelling: up to 1.8% more engine power, 3.4% enhanced throttle responsiveness, and 100% retention of engine power over time. These attributes culminate in a smoother, more responsive drive, improved fuel efficiency, and prolonged engine life — underscoring Shell’s commitment to engineering excellence and sustainable innovation.
