In a moment steeped in theatre and symbolism, DENZA marked its global coming-of-age beneath the opulent ceilings of the Palais Garnier in Paris, signalling its official entry into overseas markets beyond China. With Europe firmly in its sights, the brand’s arrival underscores a decisive shift in the premium electric mobility narrative.

Guided by its philosophy, ‘Technology Drives Elegance’, DENZA seeks to redefine luxury through innovation, focusing exclusively on new-energy powertrains, including fully electric and DM plug-in hybrid systems. At the heart of its proposition lies a commitment to seamlessly integrating advanced technology into everyday mobility.

Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD, said: “‘Technology Drives Elegance’; it is DENZA’s definition of the new premium – where advanced technology, seamlessly integrated into daily life, creates a cleaner, simpler and more delightful ownership experience. Behind this philosophy stands the strength of 120,000 engineers across BYD, always pushing the boundaries of what is possible. We believe that this is the time for people worldwide to be inspired by technology, and DENZA is uniquely placed to deliver that.”

Leading its European offensive are two flagship offerings—the Z9GT and the D9. The Z9GT, a striking shooting brake, blends sports car aesthetics with practical versatility, while the D9 reimagines the premium MPV with an emphasis on space, efficiency and long-range usability.

Both models will also debut DENZA’s FLASH Charging technology in Europe, promising ultra-fast recharge times and supported by an ambitious infrastructure rollout.

DENZA will initially launch in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the UK, with plans to expand into over 30 countries by year-end, supported by a growing retail footprint.
