Driving the next phase of sustainable innovation, Hero MotoCorp today unveiled its first Flex Fuel motorcycles — the iconic Splendor+ and HF Deluxe. With this landmark introduction, India welcomes its first Flex Fuel motorcycles in the 100cc segment, marking a defining moment in the nation’s transition towards cleaner, self-reliant and future-ready mobility.
Engineered specifically for daily commuting requirements, the new motorcycles are fully compatible with ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85. Designed to deliver practicality, convenience and affordability without compromising on the trusted performance associated with the two nameplates, the Flex Fuel range offers consumers an accessible pathway towards greener mobility.
Beyond enhancing fuel flexibility, the motorcycles are also aligned with India’s broader sustainability objectives. By helping lower the carbon and environmental footprint of everyday transportation, they directly support the nation’s goal of reducing economic carbon intensity by 45 per cent by 2030.
The motorcycles were unveiled ahead of World Environment Day at an event in New Delhi in the presence of Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), and Mr. Harshavardhan Chitale, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Hero MotoCorp.
Commenting on the development, Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), said, “India is rapidly advancing the adoption of alternative fuels and cleaner mobility technologies. Hero MotoCorp’s introduction of Flex Fuel motorcycles in the mass segment is a significant step towards reducing crude oil imports, supporting ethanol adoption, empowering farmers, and strengthening the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat.”
Echoing similar sentiments, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), said, “India is steadily building a future-ready mobility ecosystem powered by cleaner and domestically produced fuels. The introduction of Flex Fuel vehicles by Hero MotoCorp is another important milestone in our journey towards enhanced energy security, lower carbon emissions and reduced dependence on imported crude oil. Such innovations will further strengthen India’s biofuels ecosystem, create greater value for our farmers and support the vision of a self-reliant and sustainable energy future under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.”
Speaking at the unveiling, Harshavardhan Chitale, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Hero MotoCorp, said, “The launch of the Flex Fuel-ready Splendor+ and HF Deluxe marks another important step in our commitment towards cleaner and sustainable mobility. Developed at our Centre for Innovation & Technology (CIT) in Jaipur, these motorcycles underscore our commitment to delivering future-ready and locally relevant technologies. With minimal-to-no import content, our motorcycles strongly reflect India’s disruptive capabilities in manufacturing, while reinforcing the Government of India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, Viksit Bharat and long-term energy security.”
The new Flex Fuel portfolio, compatible with ethanol blends ranging from E20 to E85, will be introduced in Delhi and select regions of Maharashtra in July 2026, with a nationwide rollout set to follow shortly thereafter.
The HF Deluxe Flex Fuel has been priced at INR 72,792 (Ex-showroom Delhi), while the Splendor+ Flex Fuel carries a price tag of INR 82,710 (Ex-showroom Delhi).
Hero Splendor+ Flex Fuel: Key Specifications and Features
Powering the new Splendor+ Flex Fuel is a 97.2cc engine producing 6.3 kW at 8,000 rpm and 8.3 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm when running on E85 fuel. Hero MotoCorp says the motorcycle delivers enhanced performance compared to the standard model.
