NEW DELHI/ BENGALURU
Ampere, the electric two-wheeler brand of Greaves Electric Mobility, has announced the launch of its latest electric scooter, the Reo VYB. Developed to address everyday urban mobility requirements, the new model has been conceived to offer a safer, simpler and more accessible commuting solution for Indian consumers.
Targeted at young urban riders as well as first-time EV buyers, the Reo VYB is positioned as a smart entry-level electric scooter within Ampere’s family scooter portfolio and is available at an introductory price of INR 69,499.
At the heart of the Reo VYB is a Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery, a technology widely recognised for its superior thermal stability and safety credentials. The scooter is capable of a maximum speed of 25 kmph and offers a battery life of up to 1,00,000 kms. Ampere claims a true riding range of up to 80 km, making the scooter particularly well suited to short urban commutes and everyday errands.
Complementing its practical credentials is a refreshed design language, with customers able to choose from four colour options: Warm White, Pastel Purple, Dark Grey and Aqua Metallic.
Designed with everyday usability in mind, the Reo VYB offers 24 litres of under-seat storage, enabling riders to carry daily essentials with ease. The feature list also includes a colour LCD digital cluster, a premium key fob with keyless start, a front disc brake, and LED headlamps and tail lamps, further enhancing the ownership experience.
Ampere Care will support customers through more than 400 service touchpoints across India, backed by 12×7 customer care support. The Reo VYB is also offered with a 3 Years/30,000 Kms warranty, underscoring Greaves Electric Mobility’s focus on durability and long-term customer satisfaction.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Vikas Singh, Managing Director, Greaves Electric Mobility, said, “India’s urban mobility landscape is evolving, with customers looking for sustainable, durable, and reliable mobility solutions. With India’s Tier II and III cities getting connected to the national EV grid and factors such as the lower upfront cost of low-speed scooters and increasing last-mile delivery, the adoption is expected to rise in coming times. The Reo VYB aims to stand as a practical choice to address this need. With this launch, we strengthen our promise to build products that address real-world mobility needs.”
Powering the scooter is a hub-mounted motor engineered to deliver smooth and efficient performance. Its compact dimensions, stable ride setup, telescopic front suspension and rear damper are intended to provide confidence and manoeuvrability across crowded city streets. To further improve comfort and ergonomics, the scooter is also equipped with a rider footrest as an essential accessory.
The launch further strengthens Ampere’s presence in India’s growing electric mobility landscape. Backed by more than 17 years of expertise in the electric mobility space, the brand continues to expand its portfolio with products that combine battery safety, practical design and ownership assurance, supporting the broader transition towards clean, accessible and affordable electric transportation.
