NEW DELHI/ BENGALURU
Ampere, the electric two-wheeler brand of Greaves Electric Mobility Limited, has announced a substantial technology upgrade for its best-selling Magnus G Max. Powered by the new NxG.io software platform, the upgraded electric scooter now offers more than 30 IoT-enabled features aimed at making everyday riding easier, safer and more convenient.
Among the most notable additions are Cruise Control, Hill Hold, Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Find My Scooter and Ping My Scooter. Together, these features give the Magnus G Max a more connected proposition and position it as a smarter alternative to traditional petrol scooters.
The latest connected functionality is accompanied by an intuitive and vibrant-looking user interface on the Ampere Connect App. The system has been developed around the realities of everyday Indian mobility, addressing challenges commonly encountered by riders in cities and towns.
Hill Hold is designed to provide greater confidence in stop-and-go traffic when tackling inclines and flyovers, while Cruise Control is intended to make longer stretches more comfortable. Turn-by-Turn Navigation is displayed through the new 5-inch PMVA digital cluster, allowing riders to follow directions without repeatedly reaching for their smartphones.
Meanwhile, Find My Scooter and Ping My Scooter are designed to make locating the vehicle easier in crowded parking areas. In doing so, Ampere has sought to bring connected technology into practical everyday use, reflecting its focus on technology with tangible relevance for riders.
The Magnus G Max’s connected ecosystem extends beyond these headline features. It includes real-time charging status, live tracking, geo-fencing, theft and tow alerts, remote vehicle diagnostics, service booking, charging history and battery health insights. Over-the-air update capability is also included, allowing the scooter’s connected experience to evolve over time.
The technology update is accompanied by a new Cinnamon Copper colour option, which joins the existing premium dual-tone colour choices. The upgraded Ampere Magnus G Max is priced at INR 1,09,999.
Speaking on the launch, Mr. Vikas Singh, Managing Director, Greaves Electric Mobility, said, “For Bharat, smart mobility must also be practical, dependable and easy to use every day. With the upgraded Magnus G Max, Ampere is bringing meaningful intelligence to the family scooter segment – features that help riders navigate better, ride more comfortably, locate their scooter easily and own an EV with greater confidence. This is technology designed around real customer needs, and it strengthens our commitment to making electric mobility the first choice for customers transitioning from petrol scooters.”
Ampere Magnus G Max: Battery, Range and Performance
The technology upgrade complements the Magnus G Max’s existing performance and ownership proposition. The electric scooter is equipped with a 3 kWh LFP battery and a 2.4 kW peak motor, delivering an IDC-certified range of 142 km and a real-world range of more than 100 km. Its top speed is 65 kmph.
Underpinning its road-going credentials are 12-inch wheels, telescopic front suspension and dual rear shock absorbers. The hardware has been engineered to cope with challenging road conditions across different terrains and weather conditions.
The Magnus G Max continues to use next-generation LFP battery technology, which is designed for a long battery life of 2,00,000 km. For customers considering a move from petrol scooters, Ampere says the long-life battery proposition, coupled with lower everyday running costs, delivers a stronger total cost of ownership advantage over the vehicle’s lifecycle.
Further strengthening ownership confidence is a 5-year/75,000 km battery warranty.
