BMW i5 LWB arrives in India with 81.6kWh battery and 669km range

BMW India has launched the first-ever BMW i5 Long Wheelbase (LWB) in the country, introducing its first locally produced electric sedan. Priced at an introductory INR 79,60,000 ex-showroom, the BMW i5 Long Wheelbase combines an 81.6kWh battery with a range of up to 669km, while placing a strong emphasis on rear-seat space, comfort and long-wheelbase luxury.

The first-ever BMW i5 Long Wheelbase will be locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai, with deliveries beginning immediately. Customers can book the electric sedan at BMW dealerships across India and at www.bmw.in.

Engineered around comfort, the BMW i5 Long Wheelbase features rear-axle air suspension designed to enhance ride quality and create a serene and luxurious driving experience. Its generous proportions also give the model a strong focus on size and rear space.

Visually, the electric sedan is distinguished by an illuminated kidney grille and a bold silhouette. The premium cabin features a Sky Lounge Panorama glass roof, vegan interior and CraftedClarity crystal glass elements. Adding to the luxury experience is a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system designed to deliver a concert-level audio experience.

The BMW i5 eDrive35L M Sport is priced at INR 79,60,000, while the BMW i5 eDrive35L M Sport (FIRST EDITION) also costs INR 79,60,000. The First Edition is offered at the same price as the regular variant, rewarding early customers with an exclusive proposition and exceptional value.

Significantly, all 99 units of the exclusive BMW i5 LWB First Edition sold out before launch, underlining the early interest surrounding BMW India’s first locally produced electric sedan.
