JSW MG Motor’s Sustainability Drive: 1,000 chargers, 290 Crore kms and three new NEVs
On World Environment Day, JSW MG Motor India announced the installation of 1,000 community EV chargers across more than 470 locations nationwide. The company also revealed that its electric vehicles have collectively travelled over 290 crore green kilometres while outlining ambitious plans to introduce three new New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), including plug-in hybrid technology, in 2026.

Marking World Environment Day, JSW MG Motor India has announced a significant milestone in its electric mobility journey with the installation of 1,000 community chargers under its MG Charge initiative across more than 470 locations nationwide. With this achievement, the company becomes the first automotive OEM in India to establish EV community charging infrastructure at such scale, further strengthening the country’s rapidly evolving electric vehicle ecosystem. The charging network has been strategically deployed across a diverse range of locations, including residential societies, condominiums, hospitals, educational campuses, hotels, and industrial parks, enhancing charging accessibility for EV users across India. Alongside this infrastructure milestone, JSW MG Motor India revealed that its electric vehicles have cumulatively covered more than 290 crore green kilometres on Indian roads. According to the company, this translates into an estimated saving of 4.17 lakh metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions, underscoring the growing environmental impact of electric mobility adoption in the country. Looking ahead, the automaker has outlined an aggressive product strategy for calendar year 2026. The company plans to introduce three new NEVs (New Energy Vehicles), including the debut of plug-in hybrid technology within its Indian portfolio.
