On World Environment Day BYD India marks reduction of 118 million kilos of CO2
BYD Indias commitment to a greener future is evident in its significant strides towards reducing carbon emissions.

BYD India, a subsidiary of the world&39;s leading New Energy Vehicles manufacturer (NEV), BYD, is commemorating World Environment Day by celebrating its progress to a more sustainable future. As of May 11, 2023, BYD sold over 4.1 million new energy vehicles globally, and has saved a total of 33,644,524,664 kg (33 billion) of carbon emissions globally. In India alone, BYD has been instrumental in cutting back 118,046,879 kg (118 million) CO2 emissions through BYD electric passenger vehicles (EPV), BYD electric forklift, BYD electric trucks, and the electric buses powered by the technology of BYD’s battery, powertrain, and chassis. BYD has played a pivotal role in driving the adoption of electric vehicles globally, and with this emission savings, it has further underscored its dedication to sustainable practices and environmental responsibility. For over 16 years, BYD India has substantially contributed to reducing carbon emissions through its electric mobility and advanced battery technologies. In 2022, BYD was the first manufacturer in the world to entirely cease production of Internal Combustion Engine vehicles and constructed one of world’s first zero-carbon headquarters by an automobile brand, setting benchmarks for the global transportation industry and low carbon transformation manufacturers.
