Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has been awarded the prestigious title of “Top Exporter 2023-2024” by the Mumbai Port Authority. This honor celebrates the company’s significant role in India’s export sector and its consistent legacy of exporting made-in-India cars globally for over two decades. SAVWIPL’s efforts align with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, which has been pivotal in establishing India as a prominent automotive export hub.The company has exported more than 675,000 vehicles to date, demonstrating its dedication to engineering and manufacturing excellence. In 2023, SAVWIPL achieved a remarkable 38% year-on-year (YoY) growth, with exports making up 30% of its total production. This growth continued into 2024, with exports accounting for 40% of the company’s locally produced vehicles, marking a 20% YoY increase.In FY 2023-24, SAVWIPL exported over 43,000 locally-manufactured cars to more than 26 countries across Asia, Africa, and North America. The company’s portfolio includes iconic models such as the Volkswagen Vento and Polo, along with newer models like the Volkswagen Virtus, Volkswagen Taigun, and Škoda Kushaq.
