India Yamaha Motor (IYM) has launched its much-anticipated hybrid motorcycle, the 2025 ‘FZ-S Fi Hybrid’, priced at INR 1,44,800 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). This marks the company’s entry into the hybrid two-wheeler segment.The new FZ-S Fi Hybrid showcases a sleek and sophisticated design, highlighted by sharper edges on the tank cover and integrated front turn signals within the air intake area, enhancing both its aerodynamic appeal and aggressive look.Under the hood, the FZ-S Fi Hybrid is powered by a 149cc Blue Core engine, now OBD-2B compliant. It features Yamaha’s innovative Smart Motor Generator (SMG) and Stop & Start System (SSS), ensuring smoother starts, battery-assisted acceleration, and enhanced fuel efficiency. The SSS automatically turns off the engine at idle and restarts it with a quick clutch action, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.In terms of technology, the 2025 FZ-S Fi Hybrid introduces a 4.2-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster that pairs with smartphones via the Y-Connect app. This system offers Turn-by-Turn (TBT) navigation powered by Google Maps, providing real-time directions, road names, and intersection details for a seamless riding experience.For added comfort, the motorcycle’s handlebar position has been optimised for long rides, and the switches have been redesigned for better accessibility, even when wearing gloves.
