Audi reveals its largest and most advanced SUV

Audi has revealed the all-new Q9, introducing the largest SUV in its history and, for the first time, assigning the coveted ‘9’ designation to a flagship model. Designed to expand the upper end of the brand’s SUV portfolio, the Q9 combines a commanding presence with advanced digital technologies, premium comfort and electrified V6 performance.

Measuring 5.31 metres in length with a 3.14-metre wheelbase, the Q9 adopts a bold design characterised by an upright front end, a prominent Singleframe grille and alloy wheels of up to 23 inches. Customers can choose between the standard Advanced line and the sportier S line, while the SUV also debuts the world’s first third-generation curved digital OLED rear lights. Integrated using ultra-thin curved glass, the lighting system enhances both visibility and design, complemented by Digital Matrix LED headlights with micro-LED technology and advanced turn signals that project directional indicators onto the road.

Inside, Audi has prioritised space and passenger comfort with a standard seven-seat configuration and an optional six-seat layout featuring electrically adjustable individual seats in the second row. Automatic doors, available for the first time on an Audi, offer obstacle detection, soft-close functionality and remote operation via the myAudi app.

The flagship also features the largest panoramic sunroof ever fitted to an Audi. Covering more than 1.5 square metres, it can be opened or tilted, while optional switchable transparency and integrated ambient illumination further elevate the cabin experience.

Technology is central to the Q9, with a panoramic OLED display combining a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch touchscreen and a standard passenger display. Running on Android Automotive OS, the infotainment system supports integrated apps, enhanced voice control and seamless ChatGPT integration. A comprehensive suite of driver assistance features includes Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus with hands-free driving on approved roads in selected markets, alongside emergency braking, 360-degree cameras, automated parking and emergency assist.

Power comes from a 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine available in 220 kW and 180 kW outputs, paired with MHEV plus technology, an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and permanent quattro all-wheel drive. Adaptive air suspension is fitted as standard, with optional adaptive air suspension sport and all-wheel steering enhancing ride comfort and agility.

The Audi Q9 will be available to order from the end of July 2026, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter. In Germany, prices start at €108,400 for the Q9 TDI 220 kW.
