BYD expands SEALION 7 line-up with Dynamic variant

BYD India, a subsidiary of BYD, the global No. 1 NEV (New Energy Vehicle) manufacturer, has expanded its premium electric SUV portfolio with the launch of the new BYD SEALION 7 Dynamic. Priced at an introductory INR 41.90 lakh (Ex-Showroom price), the new variant becomes the entry point to the SEALION 7 family, offering a blend of performance, intelligent technology and everyday usability.

Powered by a 71.8 kWh Blade Battery, the BYD SEALION 7 Dynamic delivers a range of 520 km (NEDC) and accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 7.3 secs. The new variant is available in four colours – Atlantis Grey, Cosmos Black, Aurora White and Shark Grey.

With the introduction of the Dynamic, the SEALION 7 portfolio now comprises Dynamic, Premium and Performance variants, giving customers greater choice across varying mobility needs and preferences. The expanded line-up combines sustainable motoring, performance and technology, while reinforcing BYD India’s focus on making advanced electric mobility more accessible.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India, said “The strategic expansion is a direct response to the tremendous success and overwhelming customer interest in the existing BYD SEALION 7 variants. As a new expression of SEALION 7, the Dynamic variant will further strengthen its position in India’s premium EV segment by bringing BYD’s advanced technologies, safety standards and sustainable mobility solutions within the reach of more customers.”

The SEALION 7 suite now offers a choice of either a 71.8 kWh or 82.56 kWh Blade Battery. Built on BYD’s dedicated e-platform 3.0 and styled around the brand’s Ocean Aesthetics, the Dynamic features the ultra-safe Blade Battery, Cell-to-Body technology, Intelligence Torque Adaptation Control, a panoramic glass roof, rotating touchscreen infotainment system and an extensive array of safety and driver assistance technologies.

The launch also coincides with BYD India’s ongoing ‘Celebrate Your Dreams with BYD’ festive offers, rolled out on August 1, 2026. SEALION 7 Dynamic customers can avail a complimentary 7kW home charger with installation, 10-year RSA coverage extension, and an extended warranty for 10 years on LFP LV battery or 1.5 lakh km whichever is earlier.

Since its introduction in 2025, more than 4000 SEALION 7 units have been put into operation across India. The eSUV has also earned several accolades, including a maximum 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, Luxury Mid-size SUV of the Year at the ACKO Drive TOTM 2026, Premium EV of the Year at the car&bike Awards 2026, Premium SUV of the Year at the TV9 Awards and Best EV Design at the CarBike360 Auto Excellence Awards 2026.

BYD’s Blade Battery was also recognised as the Best New EV Battery Technology at the CarBike360 Auto Excellence Awards 2026, while BYD was honoured as the Pioneer in Battery Technology by Jagran Hi-Tech. The company ranked No. 91 on the 2026 Fortune Global 500 list, marking its fifth consecutive year on the index.
