NEW DELHI
Ducati has unveiled the all-new Desmo450 EDS, marking the company’s entry into the modern enduro motorcycle segment. Designed specifically for demanding off-road environments, the motorcycle builds upon the Desmo450 MX platform with extensive changes aimed at improving versatility, endurance and rider control across varied terrain.
The Desmo450 EDS features new 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels wrapped in Metzeler Six Days Extreme tyres, while an 8.5-litre fuel tank has been integrated into the aluminium perimeter frame to improve riding range. Ducati has also redesigned the side panels and seat to maintain rider ergonomics, while the transparent fuel tank enables quick fuel-level checks during rides.
Power comes from a heavily revised single-cylinder engine with Ducati’s signature desmodromic valve system. The engine has been re-engineered to deliver stronger low- and mid-range torque, smoother power delivery and improved traction for enduro riding. Updates include a smaller 42 mm throttle body, dedicated camshafts, revised piston specifications, a new exhaust system and increased crankshaft and flywheel inertia.

The aluminium perimeter frame has been further developed from the motocross model, with Ducati claiming a structure weighing less than 9 kg and comprising just 11 components. Suspension duties are handled by a Showa setup developed specifically for enduro applications, including a new 49 mm fork with 310 mm of travel and a revised rear shock mounted on a progressive linkage.
The motorcycle also receives enduro-focused protection equipment as standard, including hand guards, engine protection and dedicated clutch and alternator covers. A distinctive LED headlight and LCD instrument display complete the package.
For braking, Ducati continues its partnership with Brembo, using a two-piston front caliper and single-piston rear caliper combined with Galfer brake discs.
Ducati will also offer a Ducati Performance racing kit that adds traction control, launch control, engine brake control, configurable riding modes and a quickshifter. The traction control system is calibrated specifically for enduro use and offers four intervention levels.
Another notable feature is Ducati’s adaptive maintenance system. A dedicated algorithm continuously monitors engine stress and wear, adjusting maintenance schedules based on riding conditions and usage patterns through the Ducati X-Link app.
Ducati has confirmed that the Desmo450 EDS will arrive at selected dealerships in India during Q1 2027.
