NEW DELHI
Ducati has launched the new Hypermotard V2 and Hypermotard V2 SP in India, bringing a new generation of its performance-focused supermotard motorcycles to the market. Featuring an all-new 890 cc V2 engine, a lightweight monocoque chassis and advanced rider electronics, the motorcycles combine urban agility with track-oriented performance. Prices start at Rs 16.53 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The fourth-generation Hypermotard builds on a legacy that began with a prototype unveiled at EICMA in 2005, where it won the ‘Best of Show’ award. Twenty years on, the latest iteration retains the distinctive double-wing fuel tank, compact front end and twin under-seat exhausts, reinterpreting these signature design elements with a more contemporary aesthetic.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Bipul Chandra, Managing Director, Ducati India, said, “We are immensely proud to introduce the Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP to the Indian market. This motorcycle is a true testament to Ducati’s commitment to pure riding emotion, bringing supermotard agility and thrilling performance directly to the streets. The new V2 engine, the incredibly light monocoque chassis and the advanced electronics are engineered for one purpose to offer an unparalleled, adrenaline-fueled experience. For the discerning Indian enthusiast who demands both dynamic urban agility and track-ready excitement, the Hypermotard V2 is not just a motorcycle; it’s the ultimate fun bike.”

Powering both motorcycles is Ducati’s new 890 cc V2 engine, the lightest twin-cylinder engine the manufacturer has produced, weighing 54.4 kg. It develops 120 hp at 10,750 rpm and 94 Nm of torque at 8,250 rpm. The IVT variable intake valve timing system helps deliver responsive performance across the rev range, with 70 per cent of maximum torque available at 3,000 rpm. A racing exhaust adds 3.6 hp while reducing weight by a further 4 kg.
The monocoque frame uses the engine as a structural element and is paired with a double-sided aluminium swingarm. Compared with its predecessor, the new platform reduces weight by 13 kg on the standard V2 and 14 kg on the SP. Seat height stands at 880 mm.
The Hypermotard V2 SP further distinguishes itself with fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, Brembo M50 brake callipers and forged aluminium wheels. Its standard equipment also includes Ducati Power Launch and a Pit Limiter.
Both models feature a six-axis inertial measurement unit, Cornering ABS with Slide by Brake, Ducati Traction Control, Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0. A new five-inch full-TFT display offers Road, Road Pro and Track information modes, while the riding modes comprise Race, Sport, Road and Wet.
The Ducati Hypermotard V2 is priced at Rs 16,53,000 (ex-showroom, India), in Ducati Red. The Hypermotard V2 SP, offered in dedicated SP Livery, costs Rs 20,78,000 (ex-showroom, India). Bookings are now open across Ducati dealerships in India.
The standard V2 weighs 180 kg without fuel, while the SP weighs 177 kg without fuel. The standard model uses fully adjustable 46 mm Kayaba front forks, a Kayaba rear monoshock and Brembo M4.32 callipers; the SP features Öhlins NIX30 48 mm forks, an Öhlins STX46 monoshock and forged wheels. Ducati Power Launch and the Pit Limiter are available as accessories on the standard V2.
