Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) is preparing to introduce a new chapter in intelligent mobility with the India-spec Hyundai BAYON, an Intelligent Utility Vehicle developed around the philosophy of “Intelligence That Moves”. Scheduled for launch in India on 26 October 2026, the BAYON combines generative artificial intelligence (AI), advanced connectivity, over-the-air software updates and a digital cockpit designed to make everyday journeys more intuitive and convenient.
At the heart of its technology package is HMIL’s first-ever Generative AI Voice Assistant, featuring Intelligence by Perplexity and Voice AI powered by SoundHound AI. Designed to facilitate natural, conversational interactions, the system can assist with travel itineraries, real-time weather information, hotel and restaurant recommendations, nearby shopping destinations and sports updates, among other requests.
Moving beyond conventional voice recognition systems that rely primarily on predefined commands, the assistant aims to make in-car interactions more intuitive. Complementing this capability is the NVIDIA-accelerated Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), which integrates online navigation, split-screen functionality, personalised controls and advanced graphics within a unified digital environment.
The Hyundai BAYON also features dual 62.5 cm (12.3” + 12.3”) Curved Panoramic Displays, bringing together driving information, navigation, entertainment and connected functions. Individual user profiles and intuitive interfaces further enhance the digital experience, reinforcing the SUV’s technology-led positioning.

Connectivity extends beyond the cockpit. Hyundai Bluelink offers more than 70 connected features, encompassing remote start and stop, vehicle information, remote controls, smartphone and smartwatch connectivity, location-based services, navigation, and safety and security functions. Meanwhile, Vehicle Controller Over-the-Air (C-OTA) updates, supported by up to 19 update-capable controllers, are designed to enable remote software enhancements, feature updates and improvements to vehicle safety and security.
Recognising India’s linguistic diversity, the BAYON offers an interface supporting 10 regional and two international languages. More than 500 embedded voice commands in English, Hindi, Hinglish, Tamil, Bengali and Telugu enable access to several in-car functions without an internet connection.
Commenting on the SUV’s technology-led approach, Mr. Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, “With Hyundai BAYON, we are introducing an Intelligent Utility Vehicle that places technology and convenience at the heart of the customer experience. Guided by the philosophy of ‘Intelligence That Moves,’ BAYON seamlessly integrates Artificial Intelligence, advanced connectivity and software-driven innovation to create a mobility experience that is intuitive, evolving and deeply personalised. Through segment-defining technologies & features such as HMIL’s first-ever Generative AI Voice Assistant, NVIDIA-accelerated Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), Vehicle Controller Over-the-Air (C-OTA) updates and Hyundai Bluelink connected features, BAYON represents the next generation of intelligent mobility for Indian customers.”
Under the bonnet, the Hyundai BAYON will feature a four-cylinder 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine developing 84.4 kW (115 PS) and 144 Nm (14.7 kgm) of torque. Transmission choices will include a six-speed manual (6MT) and Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).
Bookings are open online at hyundai.co.in and through authorised Hyundai dealerships for INR 11,000. The India launch is scheduled for 26 October 2026, with deliveries expected to commence during the festive season. Detailed delivery timelines will be communicated at launch.
