It is also HMIL’s first SUV to feature an in-built Generative AI Voice Assistant and Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 Pro ADAS. Manufactured in India, the model will be exported to more than 50 international markets, reinforcing the country’s strategic importance to Hyundai’s global manufacturing and export operations.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Tarun Garg, Managing Director & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, “The launch of Hyundai BAYON marks the beginning of Hyundai’s next golden product cycle in India. BAYON is far more than a new SUV; it is a symbol of our commitment to delivering intelligent, future-ready mobility solutions that resonate with the aspirations of Indian customers. Built around our philosophy of ‘Intelligence That Moves,’ BAYON brings together meaningful innovation, advanced safety, intuitive technology and modern design in a way that enhances everyday life. As HMIL’s first SUV with an in-built Generative AI Voice Assistant and Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 Pro ADAS, BAYON represents a new benchmark for intelligent mobility. We are confident that BAYON will strengthen Hyundai’s leadership in innovation and become a highly desirable choice for customers seeking a smarter, safer and more connected driving experience.”

Central to the BAYON’s appeal is its Generative AI Voice Assistant, featuring Intelligence by Perplexity and Voice AI powered by SoundHound AI. Designed for natural conversations, it provides real-time information and assistance covering travel itineraries, weather, hotels, restaurants, news and sports.
An NVIDIA-accelerated Connected Car Navigation Cockpit integrates navigation, connected services, graphics and intuitive controls across 62.5 cm (12.3-inch + 12.3-inch) curved panoramic displays. The package includes more than 70 Hyundai Bluelink connected features, over-the-air updates for up to 19 controllers, more than 500 embedded voice commands and support for 10 regional and two international languages. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Bose Premium Sound system and a complimentary three-year Bluelink subscription further enhance the experience.
Built on the Global K Enhanced Platform, the BAYON features a body structure incorporating 69% Advanced Multi-Grade High-Strength Steel. Hyundai states that the vehicle is engineered for 5-Star Indian Safety Standards.
Its safety package comprises more than 80 advanced safety features, including 23 Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 Pro ADAS functions supported by three radars and 12 parking sensors. Highlights include Highway Driving Assist, navigation-based Smart Cruise Control Zone and Curve, Surround View Monitor, Blind-spot View Monitor and all-wheel disc brakes.
More than 35 safety features are standard across all variants, including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-start Assist Control, a roll-over sensor and high-line Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
Power comes from a four-cylinder 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine developing 84.4 kW (115 PS) and 143.8 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual gearbox and Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (iVT). The latter offers Dash Boost Mode, Sporty Drive Tech and paddle shifters, while Eco, Normal and Sport driving modes and Idle Stop & Go further broaden its versatility. Hyundai notes that more than six lakh vehicles powered by this engine have been sold in India since 2020.
Inside, the BAYON combines a 2,600 mm wheelbase with ventilated front seats, an eight-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, two-step reclining rear seats, automatic climate control, rear air-conditioning vents and a panoramic sunroof. A 60:40 split rear seat configuration and 505-litre boot provide additional practicality.
Its exterior features H-Edge LED daytime running lights and tail lamps, dual LED projector headlamps, geometric wheel arches, bridge-type roof rails and R17 diamond-cut alloy wheels. The cabin adopts a Black and Olive Grey dual-tone finish, leatherette upholstery, ambient lighting and dual curved panoramic displays.
Measuring 4,245 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width and 1,605 mm in height with roof rails, the Hyundai BAYON offers 205 mm of ground clearance and a 5.16-metre turning radius. Together, these dimensions, its technology-rich equipment and its established petrol powertrain define Hyundai’s latest offering for customers seeking connected, comfortable and safety-focused SUV motoring.
