The 29th season of the FMSCI Indian National Car Racing Championship gets underway at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore, on 24–25 October 2026, with the CTR-JK Tyre partnership bringing a compelling mix of single-seater, touring car and single-make racing to the opening round. With six categories and 17 races scheduled across the weekend, the championship promises an action-packed start to the Indian motorsport season.
The collaboration between Chennai Turbo Riders (CTR) and JK Tyre marks a new chapter in Indian circuit racing, with a shared focus on strengthening the country’s motorsport ecosystem and nurturing competitive talent. The opening round will feature established racers, emerging drivers, international entries from Malaysia and Sri Lanka, and women racers from across India.
LGB Formula 4, now in its 29th year, remains an accessible entry point into single-seater racing. Its cars use a carburetted 1,298cc Suzuki Swift engine, an Esteem five-speed gearbox and a chrome-molybdenum tubing frame. Three races are scheduled, with Dhruv Goshwani, Monith Srinivasan, Sandeep Kumar and Saran Vikram among the drivers to watch.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, presented by JK Tyre, enters its sixth edition with a revised format. Amateur and Professional competitors will race on separate grids, using the GT-R650 and GT-R750 platforms respectively. With 20 Amateurs and 15 Professionals, the category will feature three races in each class. Kabir Sahoch and Saurav Dey lead the Amateur watchlist, while Senthil Kumar, Anish D Shetty and Allwin Xavier are among the Professional contenders.
The JK Tyre Novice Cup will provide aspiring racers with a pathway from karting to single-seater competition, with two races testing their starts, consistency and composure.
Touring car action will span Super Stock, Indian Junior Touring Cars (IJTC), Indian Touring Cars (ITC) and Indian Super Touring Cars (ISTC). While Super Stock emphasises close competition through controlled technical regulations, IJTC offers a development pathway for touring car drivers. ITC and ISTC feature production-based cars prepared for circuit racing, with ISTC representing the more extensively modified class. Two races are scheduled for the ITC/ISTC category.
The JK Tyre Levitas Cup, entering its second edition, will feature lightweight, race-prepared Maruti Suzuki Ignis cars powered by a naturally aspirated 1.2-litre K-Series engine producing 92hp, with headers and a straight-pipe exhaust. Two races will bring together Rookie and Pro/Gentlemen’s competitors in a championship focused on car control, braking, cornering and overtaking.
Motorsport enthusiasts can watch the CTR-JK Tyre FMSCI Indian National Car Racing Championship 2026 live on JK Tyre Motorsport’s Facebook and YouTube channels from 10am on Saturday, 24 October, and 9.45am on Sunday, 25 October.
With a varied grid and 17 races across two days, the opening round at Kari Motor Speedway will set the tone for the 2026 championship.
