JLR India has announced its highest-ever annual sales since commencing operations in the country 17 years ago. For the financial year FY25, the company achieved a milestone of 6,183 retail units sold, reflecting a robust 40% year-on-year growth. Wholesale volumes also reached a record 6,266 units, marking a 39% increase compared to the previous fiscal year.
Demonstrating a strong growth trajectory, JLR India has more than doubled its annual retail sales over the past two years. The final quarter of FY25 proved particularly noteworthy, with the company registering its best-ever quarterly retail and wholesale figures — 1,793 and 1,710 units respectively — translating to year-on-year growth of 110% and 118%.
The consistent demand across the company’s entire product lineup has been pivotal in fueling this upward trend. Among the standout performers in FY25, the Defender emerged as the top-selling model with 90% growth. It was followed by the locally manufactured Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, which recorded impressive growth rates of 72% and 42% respectively.
Building on this success, JLR India has firmly positioned the Range Rover and Defender as highly coveted luxury SUV choices for the country’s affluent clientele. Its House of Brands strategy continues to resonate strongly with discerning consumers, further cementing its presence in the high-net-worth segment.

Mr. Rajan Amba, Managing Director, JLR India, said, “We are incredibly proud to announce our all-time best performance in FY25. JLR India has outpaced the luxury car industry with retail and wholesale growth of around 40% in the current year on the back of 81% year-on-year growth in FY24. This success is a testimony to our strong brands, a focus on ‘customer love’ and a product portfolio with unparalleled design, unmatched capability and impeccable luxury.
“Our locally manufactured Range Rover and Range Rover Sport have been a key driver of this growth, while Defender continues to sustain its leadership position in its category.
“The constant support from our retail partners and the commitment of JLR teams in India and the UK have been instrumental in driving this growth story. We’re committed to continuing this momentum in FY26, driven by curated product offerings and exceptional client experience.”
With FY25 setting a new benchmark, JLR India looks poised to continue its strong performance into the next fiscal year.
