JSW MG Motor India has announced that India’s No. 1 selling electric vehicle, the MG Windsor, has achieved a significant commercial landmark, surpassing 75,000* units in sales within less than two years of its market debut. The achievement underscores the model’s growing resonance in India’s rapidly evolving electric mobility landscape, with over 19,000* units already sold in CY2026 alone. The steadily expanding order book further signals the accelerating shift towards EV adoption across both metropolitan centres and emerging markets.
Speaking on this milestone, Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, said, “The Windsor is a winning proposition delivering strong value and resonating with the preferences of Indian car buyers. With its customers spanning across metros and emerging markets, the MG Windsor has meaningfully contributed to accelerating India’s EV adoption, transforming the way India moves. While the journey ahead remains interesting, it is important to reflect on an incredible journey backed by the grit and determination of our teams to deliver something truly exceptional.”
The MG Windsor has secured its leadership position in the EV space through its distinctive ABC proposition, combining the affordability of an A-segment model, the proportions of a B-segment vehicle, and the spaciousness typically associated with C-segment offerings. This thoughtful packaging has enabled it to appeal strongly to families, offering generous cabin space, refined comfort, and a well-appointed feature set, all while delivering a consistently engaging driving experience.
Demand for MG’s electric portfolio continues to strengthen beyond India’s Tier I cities, with significant traction emerging from non-metro and developing markets, reflecting a broader acceptance of sustainable mobility solutions. JSW MG Motor India has also reported 13% year-on-year growth in overall sales during H1 CY2026 compared with H1 CY2025, further reinforcing its upward trajectory.
Positioned as India’s first Intelligent CUV, the MG Windsor blends the practicality of a sedan with the versatility of an SUV. It is offered with a starting BaaS price of INR 9.99 lakh + INR 3.9/km+, and produces 100 kW (136 ps) of power alongside 200 Nm of torque. Buyers may choose between two battery configurations: a 38 kWh pack offering a range of 332 km#, and a 52.9 kWh PRO variant delivering up to 449 km#.
Design-wise, the Windsor introduces the futuristic ‘AeroGlide’ language, while its cabin elevates comfort through ‘Aero Lounge’ seats reclining up to 135 degrees. A prominent 15.6-inch GRANDVIEW Touch Display anchors the dashboard, enhancing usability with an intuitive, tech-forward interface.
