Land Rover Classic has pulled the wraps off an extraordinary quartet of remastered Classic Defender V8 models, showcasing the full breadth of its bespoke craftsmanship and restoration expertise. Created for a single client through the brand’s Works Bespoke programme, the collection comprises a 90 Station Wagon, 90 Soft Top, 110 Station Wagon and the newly introduced 110 Double Cab Pick-Up.
At the heart of this eye-catching commission is a remarkable Spectral Green paint finish that shifts seamlessly between green, purple and gold depending on viewing angle and ambient lighting conditions. The distinctive finish extends beyond the bodywork to encompass the diamond-turned 18-inch Sawtooth alloy wheels, exterior badging and central interior fascia panels, creating a cohesive visual identity across all four vehicles.
Achieving the intricate finish required an immense level of craftsmanship. Each Defender spent close to 400 hours within Land Rover Classic’s dedicated in-house paint facility, undergoing meticulous surface preparation, precise colour matching and extensive final polishing processes.
Further elevating the collection’s visual appeal are contrasting Icy White roofs and expedition cages, complemented by matching Defender bonnet script and hand-painted white coachlines.
Inside, the bespoke theme continues with semi-aniline Bridge of Weir Vanilla leather upholstery adorning the seats and trim. Contrast green stitching mirrors the exterior finish, while Superwool® carpets edged in Bridge of Weir leather add an additional layer of luxury. The floor mats are finished with a debossed Defender wordmark, underscoring the attention to detail evident throughout the collection.
The four-vehicle commission serves as a compelling demonstration of the almost limitless possibilities available through Land Rover Classic’s Works Bespoke service. Clients can specify colours inspired by virtually any source, including treasured personal items, natural landscapes or other vehicles within their collections.
Commenting on the project, Dominic Elms, Director, Land Rover Classic, said: “This spectacular Works Bespoke commission demonstrates the breadth of Land Rover Classic’s customisation capabilities – the result of a collaborative creative process that engages our clients with our in-house design, engineering and craftspeople to bring their vision to life. An authentic Classic Defender V8 (or four, in this case), hand-built and remastered by the original manufacturer.”
Every Classic Defender V8 begins life as an original 2012-2016 Defender before being comprehensively remastered. Each vehicle benefits from an uprated 405PS powertrain and a suite of specially developed performance enhancements engineered exclusively for the programme.
Alongside unveiling the Spectral Green collection, Land Rover Classic has also expanded the scope of its Defender V8 commission programme.
The much-admired 110 Double Cab Pick-Up body style is now available for Classic Defender V8 commissions, combining the practicality of a four-door, five-seat pick-up with the unmistakable character that has defined the Defender for generations.
Joining the expanded line-up is the compact and practical two-seat 90 Hard Top, which now sits alongside the existing 90 Station Wagon, 90 Soft Top and 110 Station Wagon body styles.
Technology has also received a significant update. A newly developed 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system is now available, bringing contemporary connectivity to the classic off-roader. Integrated seamlessly within a bespoke fascia, the system offers wireless connectivity, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, DAB/DAB+ Digital Radio, Bluetooth® functionality and a 13-band graphic equaliser.
For added convenience, customers can also specify an optional reversing camera discreetly integrated into the rear bumper or optional rear step. The system additionally incorporates a dedicated camera lens washer.
Further expanding personalisation possibilities, Land Rover Classic has broadened its palette of roof colours and 16-inch heavy-duty Wolf wheel finishes to include Fuji White and Corris Grey. Meanwhile, a new Trophy Pack introduces Narvik Black Gloss treatment for the bonnet, roof, rear door assembly and wheel arches, allowing owners to create even greater visual contrast with their chosen body colour.
Together, these latest enhancements reinforce Land Rover Classic’s commitment to preserving the Defender’s legendary character while offering discerning clients unprecedented levels of bespoke craftsmanship, luxury and individuality.
