NEW DELHI
Built on a decade of legacy and the trust of over 700,000 customers, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) has introduced the Next Gen Tiago with prices starting at ₹4.69 lakh for the ICE version, while the Tiago.ev is priced from ₹6.99 lakh under the full ownership model.
Positioned as a substantial leap forward for the segment, the Next Gen Tiago range has been developed around five core pillars: WOW LOOKS, WOW TECH, WOW CHOICES, WOW ECONOMICS and WOW SAFETY, bringing together aspiration, practicality and advanced mobility solutions under a unified design philosophy.
Launching the Next Gen Tiago and Tiago.ev, Shailesh Chandra, MD and CEO, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., said, “Hatchbacks remain the gateway to personal mobility for millions of Indian families and yet, for far too long, this segment received scarce attention from the industry, when it genuinely deserved far more. The Next Gen Tiago fulfils this need by offering substantially more.
Built on a decade of trust earned from over seven lakh customers, the Next Gen Tiago is not an evolution but a full reinvention with substantially updated exteriors, a significantly more premium interior experience, advanced connected technology including a 360° surround view system with blind view monitor, and a strengthened safety package that treats safety as a necessity and not luxury. It makes features and experiences once reserved for higher segment, premium cars readily accessible to a hatchback owner. This is what democratisation of aspiration truly means in practice.
The Next Gen Tiago.ev takes this further by fundamentally changing the financial logic of EV ownership. With an industry-first Lifetime Battery HV Warranty, enhanced fast charging that adds 100 kilometres in just 18 minutes and running cost savings that recovers the vehicle’s value within four to five years, the Tiago.ev is the first EV in India that is not just emotionally engaging but also financially smart. In a sub-₹12 lakh segment where EV penetration remains below 2%, this is precisely the ownership proposition that will move the needle.
Three distinct powertrains – Petrol, iCNG and EV – two distinct customer journeys, and one unified conviction: that modern design, advanced technology and genuine safety are not privileges reserved for higher segments. Every Indian family deserves more. And with the Next Gen Tiago, we are delivering on that promise – one household at a time.”

Visually, the Next Gen Tiago range adopts a far more contemporary and expressive identity. The petrol and iCNG variants receive bolder surfaces, sharper detailing and a stronger visual stance, lending the hatchback a more confident road presence while retaining its familiar appeal. The Tiago.ev, meanwhile, embraces a more digitally progressive aesthetic, underlining its futuristic urban mobility intent.
Underpinning the ICE versions is Tata Motors’ X-ALFA architecture, bringing with it a richer feature set, advanced connected technologies and immersive digital interfaces aimed at elevating everyday usability. The cabin experience has also been significantly enhanced to deliver a more premium and intuitive ownership experience for Indian families.
The Tiago.ev builds further on this proposition with technology tailored specifically for urban mobility needs. Enhanced fast charging capability now allows the battery to gain 100 kilometres of range in just 18 minutes, while updated connected technologies and intuitive interfaces strengthen its appeal as an accessible electric hatchback for city buyers.
Tata Motors is also positioning the Tiago.ev as a financially prudent ownership proposition. The company claims substantially lower running costs for regular urban usage, enabling customers to potentially recover ownership costs within four to five years. Buyers opting for solar home charging solutions could further accelerate these savings, fundamentally altering the economics of personal mobility.
Flexibility remains central to the Next Gen Tiago line-up. The petrol and iCNG variants will be available with both manual and AMT gearbox options, alongside a carefully structured variant strategy designed to suit varying customer requirements. The Tiago.ev, in turn, will offer multiple battery pack choices, flexible ownership models and seamless automatic driving characteristics intended to simplify EV adoption for first-time electric vehicle buyers.

Safety, unsurprisingly, receives considerable attention across the range. The ICE-powered Tiago introduces segment-first technologies including a 360° Surround View system and Blind View Display, aimed at easing urban manoeuvrability and parking challenges. Tata Motors also states that the hatchback has been engineered to perform in demanding double-impact collision scenarios.
The Tiago.ev further strengthens the package with standard six airbags, electronic stability systems and an integrated suite of technology-led safety features designed to enhance situational awareness and driver confidence.
With the launch of the Next Gen Tiago and Tiago.ev, Tata Motors is clearly sharpening its focus on democratising premium mobility experiences for Indian consumers. By offering petrol, CNG and electric powertrain choices within a single cohesive hatchback family, the company aims to cater to evolving customer expectations while making advanced technology, safety and aspirational design increasingly attainable.
