Reinforcing 75 years of Nissan SUV excellence, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) has secured an India Book of Records title for the official record of the “largest convoy of a single-model four-wheeler to reach Leh”. The landmark achievement saw a convoy of 60 all-new Nissan TEKTON premium SUVs successfully complete a demanding five-day Himalayan expedition covering more than 700 km, ascending from Chandigarh at 1,053 feet to Shinku La Pass at 16,703 feet before culminating in Leh at an altitude of 11,480 feet.

The record-setting expedition showcased the capability, durability and engineering strength of Nissan’s newest premium SUV across one of the country’s most demanding driving environments.

Traversing highways, mountain passes and ever-changing weather conditions, the all-new Nissan TEKTON demonstrated its real-world performance across a route stretching from Chandigarh to Manali, onward to Zangla via Shinku La, before reaching Leh. Throughout the expedition, the convoy was driven by media personnel and industry experts, further validating the SUV’s performance across diverse and challenging terrain.

Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said, “Entering the India Book of Records with the all-new Nissan TEKTON is a proud moment for Nissan Motor India and a fitting celebration of our 75-year SUV excellence. While the record is significant, what makes the achievement especially meaningful is what it represents. Sixty TEKTON SUVs successfully completed a demanding Himalayan drive, demonstrating the vehicle’s capability, durability and engineering strength in real-world conditions. This milestone reflects Nissan’s commitment to delivering premium SUVs that give customers confidence wherever their journeys take them. It also reinforces our belief in the all-new TEKTON as a vehicle engineered to perform across India’s diverse driving environments.”

The India Book of Records recognition further strengthens Nissan’s long-standing SUV heritage while underlining the all-new TEKTON’s ability to perform confidently across varied and demanding landscapes. Inspired by Nissan’s iconic Patrol, the premium SUV combines bold design, Japanese craftsmanship, advanced safety technologies, Google built-in with access to more than 200 apps through Google Play, and a 100% turbocharged engine line-up. The convoy of 60 TEKTON SUVs was driven throughout the expedition by industry experts and members of the media fraternity.
