NEW DELHI
Renault India has formally commenced nationwide customer deliveries of the new Renault Duster, marking a significant moment for the French carmaker’s wholly owned Indian subsidiary. The milestone aligns with the inauguration of the brand’s new’R retail store on Mount Road in Chennai, underscoring Renault’s evolving retail and customer engagement strategy.
The inaugural handover was elevated by the presence of François Provost – Chief Executive Officer, Renault Group, and Stephane Deblaise – Chief Executive Officer, Renault Group in India, who jointly presented the keys of the first Duster to Dr. Arthanari Manickavasagam, a renowned doctor based in Chennai.
The newly opened new’R store is a 1S facility spanning 4,500 sq. ft., with 3,000 sq. ft. dedicated to display and customer interaction. Designed as an urban experiential outlet, it is capable of showcasing up to five vehicles and includes a dedicated delivery bay, offering customers a seamless and immersive brand journey. Notably, Chennai—home to the first-ever new’R store—has once again marked a milestone by hosting the initial delivery of the new Duster.
Renault India continues to accelerate the transformation of its retail footprint. With the inauguration of this outlet, the city now houses its second new’R store, taking the total count across India to 11. The company has outlined ambitious expansion plans for this format, targeting 70 such urban retail outlets nationwide within the year. These new’R stores will complement Renault’s established network of over 350 sales touchpoints across the country.
A pioneer of the mid-size SUV segment in India, the Duster continues to command robust customer interest. Renault India is further strengthening its ownership proposition through customer-focused initiatives such as the Renault Forever programme, offering coverage of up to seven years or 150,000 km. The commencement of deliveries comes at a time when Renault India has recorded a 77% growth in sales in March 2026, driven by strong momentum from models such as the Renault Kiger and Renault Triber, alongside the introduction of the new Duster.
