Continuing its pursuit of accessibility and strategic market expansion, Škoda Auto India has officially announced the inclusion of its newest SUV, the Škoda Kylaq, in the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) inventory across India. This move enables eligible defence personnel to purchase the Kylaq at subsidised prices, reinforcing Škoda’s commitment to those who serve the nation with valour and dedication.
The Canteen Stores Department (CSD), a retail initiative operated under the aegis of the Ministry of Defence, stands among India’s largest consumer networks. Designed to offer quality goods at concessional prices, the CSD network includes an extensive chain of Unit Run Canteens and a comprehensive online portal that ensures nationwide reach and convenience for serving and retired defence personnel.
Škoda Auto India’s presence on this platform marks a significant step in bringing the brand’s most competitively priced SUV—the Kylaq—within closer reach of India’s defence community.
Developed on the MQB-A0-IN platform, the Škoda Kylaq is a Made-in-India SUV imbued with European engineering precision. The vehicle has garnered a 5-star safety rating for both adult and child occupants under the rigorous protocols of the Bharat NCAP, reinforcing its credentials as a family-focused, safety-first offering.
Powering the Kylaq is a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, which can be paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
