Marking the return of the legendary Thruxton moniker, the 400cc-class café racer made its global debut in India, with a wider international release slated for later this year. The new Thruxton 400 blends nostalgic design cues with advanced technology, aiming to capture the hearts of a new generation of riders seeking both style and substance.
Retaining the unmistakable silhouette of its predecessors, the Thruxton 400 showcases signature café racer elements, including low-slung clip-on handlebars, a sculpted fuel tank, and a colour-matched bullet seat cowl. It remains faithful to Triumph’s heritage while introducing a dynamic new expression of the acclaimed TR-Series engine—delivering enhanced top-end performance and a thrilling riding experience.
At its core, the Thruxton 400 features a dedicated chassis tuned for more spirited handling. A revised suspension set-up ensures a sharper, sportier response, perfectly complementing its focused riding ergonomics. Triumph has also equipped the model with a host of rider-focused technologies such as ride-by-wire throttle, torque-assist clutch, and switchable traction control—bringing intuitive control and modern capability to this classically inspired machine.

Continuing Triumph’s commitment to engineering excellence, the Thruxton 400 benefits from class-leading service intervals and exceptional build quality, ensuring both performance and long-term value.
Speaking about the launch, Paul Stroud, Chief Commercial Officer, Triumph Motorcycles, commented: “The Thruxton name is synonymous with an exhilarating ride, a focused riding position and the iconic café racer silhouette. The new Thruxton 400 delivers all that and more, representing exceptional value that will appeal to a younger audience who long to own a stylish motorcycle with the modern performance and premium finish of a Triumph. With its uprated engine and sportier ergonomics, the Thruxton 400 is an exciting addition to our Modern Classic range, building on the accessibility and confidence inspiring handling that has made the 400 range so popular.”
India, a crucial market for Triumph, has already embraced the 400cc Modern Classic segment with enthusiasm. The new Thruxton 400 is expected to build further momentum for the brand.
Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto Ltd, shared his perspective: “The Triumph business in India has seen tremendous momentum over the past year — from expanding our network and experience stores to a growing community of passionate riders who are engaging deeply through regular rides and events. The response to the Modern Classic 400cc range has exceeded expectations, and the new Thruxton 400 is a worthy addition. It blends authentic café racer styling with exhilarating performance and exceptional build quality. With this launch, we continue to offer Indian riders not just motorcycles, but iconic machines that evoke emotion and foster community.”
