UST completes majority stake acquisition in Italdesign from Audi Group

UST has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Italdesign from the Audi Group, bringing together the Italian automotive design and engineering specialist’s longstanding industry expertise with UST’s capabilities in artificial intelligence, automotive engineering and software-defined vehicles.

The transaction arrives as the automotive industry undergoes a profound technological transformation, with vehicles becoming increasingly software-defined, AI-enabled and connected. Against this backdrop, the partnership between UST and Italdesign is intended to help manufacturers navigate the mounting complexity of next-generation mobility while accelerating innovation from concept through to production.

The collaboration brings together Italdesign’s world-renowned design and engineering expertise with US-based UST’s strengths in automotive engineering, AI, software-defined vehicles and digital ecosystem design. At its core is a shared belief that the future of mobility will emerge from the convergence of design, engineering, software and artificial intelligence, without losing sight of the human creativity that remains central to innovation.

For nearly six decades, Italdesign has helped shape some of the world’s most recognisable vehicles, combining design creativity with engineering excellence. Its integration with UST’s expertise in AI, digital engineering and software-defined vehicles is expected to create new opportunities to design, engineer and deliver intelligent, connected products for the next generation of mobility.
