VIDA, powered by Hero, has added another notable international accolade to its growing design portfolio, securing multiple honours at the Red Dot Design Concept Awards 2026. Recognised for their visionary design and innovative engineering, the VIDA NOVUS series, comprising the NEX 1, NEX 2 and NEX 3, and the high-performance VIDA DIRT.E MX7 have secured top honours at one of the world’s most prestigious design competitions.
The latest recognition follows the success of the VIDA DIRT.E K3, which received the same honour last year. Together, the consecutive accolades underline VIDA’s expanding global design credibility and reinforce its philosophy of developing future-ready mobility solutions through purposeful design.
At the heart of the Red Dot recognition for the VIDA NOVUS concepts is a human-first design philosophy that places real-world movement ahead of conventional vehicle categories. Rather than approaching the products simply as styling exercises, VIDA has conceived the NOVUS series as a spectrum of mobility solutions, each addressing a distinct everyday requirement.
The VIDA NEX 1 is designed to address fragmented, in-between stretches of journeys, taking the form of a portable, human-scale device that can also function as a backpack. The NEX 2 seeks to combine the agility of a two-wheeler with enhanced safety and multi-use utility, while the NEX 3 is conceived to provide personal, all-weather protection and dignity without the footprint associated with a conventional car.
Taken together, the three concepts illustrate VIDA’s broader approach to electric mobility, with each addressing different riding requirements while retaining an emphasis on purposeful design. The Red Dot recognition consequently extends beyond visual appeal, reflecting the brand’s attempt to rethink how electric mobility can respond to diverse everyday use cases.
The VIDA DIRT.E MX7, meanwhile, represents a more performance-oriented expression of the brand’s design and engineering philosophy. It marks a bold step forward as the first model on VIDA’s dedicated mid-size off-road platform, developed as an electric motorcycle to deliver agility, control and a deeper connection between rider and trail.
VIDA’s off-road ambitions also extend to the next generation of riders. The VIDA DIRT.E K3 introduces an innovative, size-adaptive platform designed to grow alongside young riders, creating a safe, scalable and sustainable entry point into off-road adventure. Its Red Dot recognition last year laid the foundation for the latest design honours secured by the brand.
Commenting on the achievement, Kausalya Nandakumar, Chief Business Officer, Emerging Mobility Business Unit, Hero MotoCorp, said, “Design prowess is the ultimate catalyst for innovation at VIDA, shaping not just how our products look, but how the world experiences mobility. From the rugged capability of the VIDA DIRT.E series to the progressive vision of VIDA NOVUS, our engineering is an expression of our world-class design capabilities. These consecutive Red Dot honors are a powerful validation of our global design dominance as we continue to set new benchmarks for the future of mobility.”
The Red Dot Design Award is regarded as an international benchmark for design excellence and pioneering innovation. Entries are evaluated by a diverse panel of independent global experts, with the coveted seal of quality serving as a respected international mark of design excellence.
For VIDA, the latest honours add further weight to an increasingly global design narrative, one that spans practical, human-scale mobility concepts and purpose-built electric motorcycles. With the NOVUS series and DIRT.E MX7 now joining the DIRT.E K3 among its Red Dot-recognised creations, the brand’s design philosophy continues to place purposeful innovation at the centre of its vision for the future of mobility.
