The exterior design reflects a confident evolution of Audi’s premium design language. Its upright front fascia gives the Q9 an unmistakably authoritative stance, while the expansive Singleframe grille dominates the face of the vehicle. Customers can choose between the standard Advanced line, which features refined vertical bars within the grille, or the more assertive S line, characterised by a sportier interpretation with a more aggressive lower bumper and distinctive detailing.

The Q9’s digital experience centres around Audi’s panoramic OLED display, integrating a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a 14.5-inch central touchscreen. A dedicated 12.3-inch passenger display is also fitted as standard, incorporating dynamic privacy technology that prevents distracting content from being viewed by the driver while the vehicle is in motion.

Running on Android Automotive OS, the infotainment system supports applications directly through the integrated Audi Application Store without requiring a connected smartphone. Advanced driver assistance further strengthens the flagship’s technological credentials. Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus enables hands-free partial automated driving on approved roads at speeds of up to 130 km/h in selected markets, combining steering, acceleration and braking assistance while continuously monitoring driver attention. A comprehensive suite of safety technologies includes emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, 360-degree cameras, automated parking, trailer assistance, exit warning and an emergency assist function capable of bringing the vehicle safely to a controlled stop should the driver become unresponsive.

Powering the Q9 at launch is a 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine available in outputs of 220 kW and, in selected European markets, 180 kW. The higher-output version develops 299 PS and 630 Nm of torque, while both engines benefit from Audi’s MHEV plus technology. Incorporating a next-generation powertrain generator, lithium iron phosphate battery and an electric-powered compressor, the system contributes up to 18 kW of additional power, delivers immediate throttle response and improves overall efficiency. Power is channelled through an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and permanent quattro all-wheel drive as standard.

Ride comfort receives equal attention. Adaptive air suspension comes standard, continuously adjusting damping and ride height to suit changing road conditions while offering up to 90 millimetres of adjustment. There’s also optional adaptive air suspension sport for sharper handling, while all-wheel steering enhances manoeuvrability at low speeds and improves stability during high-speed driving. Ventilated composite brake discs, progressive steering and seven selectable drive modes complete a chassis package engineered to deliver confidence across virtually every driving environment.
