Citroen, the French automotive brand, forayed into the Indian market in 2021 with the C5 Aircross SUV. The company then gradually expanded its product range in India by introducing the C3 Aircross, the C3 hatchback, and the all-electric eC3. Recently, it unveiled its fifth product for the Indian market, the Basalt SUV-coupe. The Basalt SUV Coupe will directly rival Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor and the Tata Curvv. Here’s a closer look at the Basalt SUV-coupe… Presented as a ‘concept’ the 4.3 meter Basalt, is based on the same Smart Car platform as the C3 and C3 Aircross. Following the C3 and C3 Aircross and their C-Cubed program, it does have a few typical Citroen elements. The Basalt gets an upright front fascia with a high bonnet and ground clearance. While the Basalt flaunts a unique finish on the front grille inserts, a few components seem to have been borrowed from the C3 Aircross, such as the LED DRLs, the chrome-finished Citroen emblem, the dual-slat grille and the faux silver skid plate.
