Mercedes-Benz India launches their ‘EQ’ brand
India to witness more than ten product launches across segments from the German car manufacturer

Mercedes-Benz India launched their ‘EQ’ brand in the country and with the launch of this brand, they will, (in all likelihood,) become the first luxury car manufacturer to bring “luxury electric motoring” to the country. Their EQ brand launch in India comes at a time when the Indian car market is gearing up to welcome a slew of EVs such as the Tata Nexon EV and the MG ZS EV, to name a few, however, these yet-to-be launched EVs do not offer luxury electric motoring as Mercedes-Benz’s EQ brand vehicles do. Competitors such as Audi’s e-tron and Jaguar’s I-Pace are yet to arrive in India. Speaking on the occasion, Martin Schwenk, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “although 2019 was not a very good year for the industry “we tried our best to drive positive sentiments in the market.” However, he said that “2020 will be a very exciting year” full of “restlessness,” as India, “will witness more than ten product launches across segments.” In keeping with Mercedes-Benz India’s focus on the latest technologies and connected services, Schwenk, said that “EQ represents intelligent electric mobility.
