On 14 September 2025, the marque’s U9 Xtreme shattered the global production-car top-speed record, achieving a staggering 496.22 km/h (308.4 mph) at the ATP Automotive Testing Papenburg track in Germany. This milestone dethrones the fastest petrol-powered production vehicle in history and the U9 Xtreme becomes the fastest production car on the planet, and it is entirely electric! A Technological Tour de Force: The YANGWANG U9 Xtreme The U9 Xtreme, formerly identified as the U9 Track/Special Edition, emerges as a peerless embodiment of cutting-edge engineering. Now officially christened the YANGWANG U9 Xtreme—or U9X, in production nomenclature—this hypercar represents a bold evolution of the existing U9 architecture available in China. It is not merely an electric vehicle; it is a paradigm shift.
